Reliable inline filter
We have been using an inline water filter on our fridge since we moved in 24 years ago. This brand does a good job of filtering the water for the ice maker. Since we have a small family we only need to change the filter on a yearly basis. A larger family might need to change it more often.

Necessary, but at a reasonable price for a change
A much needed item at a price that doesn't leave me feeling like I've been sexually assaulted. Honestly, it is far better to buy a filter than it is to service a clogged ice maker and water dispenser, with the added bonus of improving the taste.
