Laowa100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO for Canon RF, VE10028RF

Wow! WoW! WOW!! Seriously. This is now hands down my favorite lens in my kit. Yes it is fully manual, yes there isn’t any stabilization. But the clarity and accurate color reproduction is insanely good. The advertised APO is incredible. The difference that alone makes in the fine detail areas of macro shots is just incredible.I was not given this to review. I was on the fence between this and the Canon 65mm MP-E. I do not regret my decision at all to buy this from Laowa. It makes my Canon 85mm “macro” obsolete.The lens hood is a bit ridiculous considering it extends within the focus distance and blocks all light. The aperture ring rotates too freely. But it’s still my favorite glass.

Primero: el objetivo es manual. No es un objetivo para quienes usan el automático para todo. En el sistema RF, con el visor electrónico, se hace raro enfocar. No puedes colocar una pantalla de enfoque adecuada que te asista. No sé si será por la ausencia total de electrónica (hay que activar en la cámara la opción de permitir disparar sin objetivo porque no hay ninguna comunicación entre ambos) pero la EOS R no da ninguna ayuda al enfoque. Así que, o para quienes tenemos ya práctica con los manuales 100%, o para quienes quieran acceder a la práctica de esa fotografía en la que el fotógrafo importa más que el material.Como el objetivo no tiene que incluir un motor de enfoque es más ligero que el canon 100 L, aparte de tener un mayor aumento, al admitir una distancia de enfoque más reducida. Tampoco incluye estabilizador, dependiendo del incorporado al cuerpo de la cámara. Por ello, para macros es muy recomendable el trípode. También es muy práctico un flash anular.Como todos los 100 2.8 es también un buen objetivo para retrato.Particularmente, y siempre dentro del ámbito de la fotografía manual, es un gran objetivo.

this macro lens is so sharp. paired with the r6 its pretty good set up for macro work. though i do wish it would have AF but i know this lens is manual to begin with. hard to beat for the money
