It works so slick. But when you get into 3.5 oz and up your ball starts to go over and then you have a mess. I'm keeping this one but also ordering one that holds 10 oz.

Before it would work I had to re align all the gear teeth, find a way to hold the metal doo dad out so it had tension and would stay in the right position. Only Holds about 100 yards of yarn. Do not recommend

Don't buy the cheapest product available and expect it to work like the most expensive one. This does the job it is meant to do - winds SMALL balls of scrap yarn so your stash is a bit more manageable. You do need to mind the tension on the yarn as you feed it. Loose yarn and tangles cause the yarn to get knotted around the turning mechanism. The table clamp isn't great, but it also won't hurt your table. I bought the kit that included the snips, stitch markers, and plastic yarn needles. They are all decent quality. Though I do prefer metal needles, plastic ones have their place as well.

This is a great size if you have partial skeins but It doesn’t do a full skein I got about 3/4 done and yarn started coming off so if not doing a new skein it is great value easy to set and use

Your hand will get a work out. The little arm doesn’t stay up for anything so I end up having to hold the yarn and the metal bar in my left hand while I crank with my right.Wish the cakes could be bigger as well. Even smaller skeins of yarn end up making 2+ cakes but otherwise it works.

I had to return it was too small. Still waiting for a replacement

For some reason I can't upload the pics, but I got it today and already balled 3 skeins of worsted weight yarn, each one was 218 yards long and they came out beautifully! It's compact, easy to store and assemble and works beautifully! The winder alone is worth the money and then there's the pom pom makers, the scissors, stitch markers and darning needles, definitely a sweet deal.

I love finally being able to wind my yarn into cakes properly it works very well and quickly. Only downside is that it’s too small for my bigger yarn skeins but it does great for my normal sized skeins and I just make more balls out of the big skeins. Also super happy it comes with all the little tools now I have doubles when I lose something!

Easy to use and very convenient. However, at one point a gear did misalign and it took a while to get it back to normal. I didn’t have to take it apart or anything but if the yarn doesn’t look right check for that. The pom pom things are very easy to use but I did have to look up a video on how to do it since it was my first time. The scissors are sharp and very useful.
