Price for what is get is great. Should dry it right after washing as it will quickly rust.

Do not buy this. Horrible quality, impossible to clean. Very uncomfortable to use.

i've used CI skillets for decades now and grew up with a Mom that used them daily. for the record, i have 2 of these exact skillets. i have fancy antic iterations, as well as contemporary work horses. Lodge skillets are superb. yes, you can buy a mirror finish from another mfr, but actually check to see what difference it really makes. just about nothing in practice. if you like the bells and whistles of a smooth surface . . . go for it. but it likely will have zero effect on the actual cooking/food. in fact, if there is less surface area contact (i.e., bumpy surface), it should equate to less friction and thus less sticking. but snobs are gonna snob, right?

I love cast iron pans and saw that this pan was listed as a favorite on CNN’s “must buy” list. I have other CI that I use, but I absolutely LOVE this pan! I washed, dried, and wiped it with oil as directed. I have used it many times and nothing sticks. It is perfect for eggs and pancakes to burgers and steaks. Cast iron doesn’t need high temperatures to get a good sear, so you save energy. Some have claimed that their food sticks when cooking. Keep your temperature low and oil your pan after each use and you shouldn’t have any problems. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!!!

This is a wonderful pan that retains heat and is easy to clean. Best of all, I can handle it as it is lighter in weight than other cast iron quality pans.

I ordered a set of these 12, 10 and 8 inch skillets and sanded the inside surface smooth. I re-seasoned them with avocado oil. They look and work great. I love the shape of the handle and how comfortable it is. Also the curved transition to to the edge makes it easy to slide eggs off to a plate. The 12 inch is darker color because I use that the most. They worked great out of the box too. They are not shiny out of the box like my photos. Smoothing the surface was optional and a lot of work. Now that I did it I enjoy them even more.

This looks and feels like a high quality cast iron pan. It cooks well and cleanup is normal for cast iron products. The only reason for the 4 stars is the fact that it really isn't seasoned all that well and is not ready for immediate use. You need to perform your own seasoning before using it.
