His Thoughts Said. . .His Father Said: Real-World Answers to the Hard Questions of Life

I bought the paperback of this book 44 years ago as a student. I have used this devotional so much in all those years, that the cover itself had come off. This little book has been one I've carried through the years. Amy Carmichael has written a number of devotional and encouragment books, many of those during her years of physical pain. Her books have contributed greatly to my devotional growth, and my perserverence through all the physical as well as spiritual challenges I've encountered through the years. Try "His Thoughts Said...His Father Said."

This is a beautiful spiritual work of literature. Poetic and profound. Amy Carmichael is one of my heroes because she is one of the first to do something against the practice of temple prostituion using young girls in India. She is also one of the bravest missionaries that I have ever heard of.

I was given this little book years ago. It is what began my journaling ..."conversations with the Lord". Amy's sensitive and deeply personal relation to the Lord draws one into realizing the wonder of praying hard questions and receiving loving answers.

This is a great book for tough times. More than a devotional, it helps put life in perspective and does it in a realistic fashion.

This book was tremendous to me in learning how to hear God's voice and in recognizing that God does speak individually to each of us. God's answers to her questions have also spoken directly into many difficult situations that I have faced.

This book came with perfect timing. I'd recommend this book to ladies young and old who enjoy inspirational writing, as it has wonderful lessons to take from a humble missionary.

Such a loaded little book. So much daily encouragement and challenges. Highly recommend it.

In this book the thoughts and aspirations of man are recorded as though they were coming from someone and God is both listening to those thoughts and answering them.This book covers the many questions that we ask as Christians and the many challenges and trials that we face.God answers in a way that the reader is able to readily identify with what is being conveyed because the answers lead the reader into a better place with God.This book is both challenging and convicting in that the reader is not only brought face to face with his or her own position, but is also left with a choice, and that choice is always one of obeying God's will for one's life or otherwise.
