Broken Mexican Talavera Tiles Handmade Mix Designs 10 Pounds

Perfect to cover the top two-shelf wooden bookshelves! This is my second order from this vendor for these tiles; I combined the first tiles with white tile I had and covered a dresser top in another room. Both orders provided various colorful tiles at a very reasonable price. Yes, most of my tiles were not broken, but these tiles are easy to break because they are clay (earthenware). Per previous reviews, keep in mind that these tiles are thick; so they are a good fit for flat or larger curved items. Shipping was very quick and the tiles were well packed (taped in bubble wrap and secured in the cardboard box with paper wadding). If I come up with another project idea, I will be back to order these again!

Gorgeous, high quality tiles! I actually thought I was buying broken pieces, these are better. Some did break during transport, but that’s fine with me since I’m doing mosaics. The others I will install above our bathroom sink.Only remote complaint is that I received two tiles with the number 5 on them. Now I need more numbers to make for our address.

These seem to be all reject tiles, which is what I’d expected, they do not disappoint. Most of what I received are full tiles, a benefit in my opinion as I can shape to what I might desire. My 10 pound pack has 32 tiles each about 4-1/8” square x 1/4” thick. Mexican tiles are rather fragile so easily broken, cut with a hand-held tile saw or otherwise shaped with a coarse file or rasp. The color palette is mostly dark blues, medium oranges and browns, with some white, green, black, lighter blues and reddish browns. Most of the patterns are geometric flowers, again an expectation, but one very pleasant surprise was a combo crescent moon-sun image that I’ll use whole as a focal piece.

I am using these around my house to add some color around mirrors and was surprised to find that when I opened the box the tiles were intact. I expected pieces, but instead it is box if intact tiles with some imperfrections and chips, usually on the corners. I hate to break them, but need to for the projects. A great value

I love the colors of these tiles. I ordered 20lbs. When I first opened the box, I was very disappointed because out of 20 lbs I only had 5 whole tiles, 4 almost whole and the rest were all in pieces. So, I separated the tiles and saw that most were completely useable tiles, after all I did want broken tiles. The rest are pretty small pieces. I update my review after seeing how my patio table gets tiled. My table is 42" round table and I do have more tiles from yard sales to add to it. It may take a while to get it done, it is just too hot to work with it. Judging from other reviews, I believe my box of tiles was dropped somewhere on it's way to me.

They were mostly in tact, and the ones I had to break apart, I didnt mind! I liked that many were still intact, as it gave me some control over what I wanted to keep together (the tiles I didnt use, I preferred to keep as one piece). Love the art, you can tell its authentic and handmade. I will be ordering more and more! I redid a glass bowl I had and I am so very proud of it for it to be my first piece it turned out great and it's largely due to this amazing tile!

I fell in love with Talavera Pottery while visiting a little place called “The Pink Lady”, across the southern New Mexico / Mexico border. I bought tons of dishes for our kitchen, and some planters.Being able to buy the tiles….is AWESOME!!I ordered 6 different tile orders. This 10 pound box of “Broken” tile is one of them.All 5 boxes I received today were packaged in one large box to ship. Of allllll the tiles in this big old box….only 2 tile were broken- and they were in the order that was already supposed to be broken.MIND BLOWN! I don’t even know what to say to that. I really, really wanted the broken tile….had a design already in my head.I CANT BREAK THESE!! LOL THEY’RE TOO BEAUTIFUL!!Well, guess I’ll have to re think my design. And then- I’ll HAVE to come back and buy more and do what’s already in my head?! Yeah ….I’ll have to do that sneaky like lol….HAHA!!I’ll come back and post some photos when I have something made. 😂If you’re looking for tiles, beautiful colorful tiles- these are well worth it!

They are pretty, but I was hoping to receive more of a variety of tiles... as you can see, there are many duplicates
