Going on 4 years & still works like a champ. NO install issues with Xfinity either.
I bought this S33 modem in January of 2022 (today is June 26, 2025) and the thing has worked like a champ. Never did one problem occur. It was also easy peasy to set up with Xfinity. I use it exclusively wireless (I have the 1.3 gig speed from Xfinity) along with two Amplifi Alien routers (one is used as a mesh point) and I get great speeds and have around 35 wireless devices on my network (the Aliens are 1 Gb only but can speeds over that if I plug in my Macbook Air M2.But again, not one problem with the S33 and zero problems with Xfinity to get it working. I would buy a new S34 if something ever did happen to the S33 but the S33 meets all my household requirements.

PERFECT modem to use with Xfinity 1 GB service and Eero Pro 6 mesh routers!
I rented a Comcast router for years (how was I such a sucker!?) but when we recently upgraded our service to 1 GB speeds, I decided it was time to upgrade all of our hardware and stop paying $15 per month to rent their modem when I could buy one on my own! I did some research and this seemed to be the best option to take advantage of our new higher speeds. This modem combined with the Eero Pro 6 mesh routers system has lightning fast internet speeds reaching every corner of our 3,400 sq ft. house. I took this modem in the box to a local Xfinity store where they provisioned it to work with their service (they just needed the serial number and IP address) then took it home, plugged it in and used the Xfinity app to get it set up. It literally worked perfectly right out of the box and was super easy to get up and running. Just plug and play! My speed tests on my phone are coming back at around 950 MB/sec which is everything I could hope for! We've now been using this modem for about a month and have had ZERO hiccups or drops in service/connection. Internet is blazing fast and reliable, modem plays nicely with router setup. I truly couldn't ask for anything better, and now I'm not having to pay to rent Comcast's equipment! Yes it was a little pricey, but it will pay for itself within the first year, and I like having my own equipment now. I have nothing but good things to say about this modem so far. If we have any problems with it in the future I will absolutely update this review, but so far it's been an absolute dream. Anyone who says it doesn't work with Xfinity service or had a ahrd time setting it up either doesn't know what they're doing, didn't follow the directions properly or the problem is coming from Xfinity's end, because the modem worked perfectly exactly as it should right out of the box when you follow the directions and make sure to have your provider provision it for use PRIOR to plugging it in for the first time.I sincerely hope this review has been helpful to someone else! And yes, I paid FULL PRICE for it! Feel free to ask any questions.

Work great and holds fast speeds with MEDIACOM
One of the better modems on the market. Even my IT department recommends these and they typically work with any ISP. I have Mediacom and was tired of paying an extra $15 a month renting their outdated and refurbished old hardware. Got this and crash and stutter WAY less... and save money on my monthly bill.Highly recommended and works great with mesh networks like Eero. THIS IS NOT A ROUTER. So you will need a separate router or mesh network to broadcast your Wifi signal.

Arris S33 0 durability
Was wonderful in the start. We have Xfinity 1Gb speed plan and I wanted to take full advantage since I work from home and like to game. Worked super well with the 6E Eero's I got. It's barely a year old and it has failed. Overheating and intermittent connections were the start. Then it started to constantly just shut down. For $200 I expected this to be much better and have more durability as well as better support. Arris support has been useless thus far even though I am under a warranty with them. Don't waste your money on this. I wish there were better alternatives for cable modems like their are fiber, but sadly that is not the case. I bought an S34 since I needed something fast and so far it is okay, but I am not hopeful.Avoid if you can and sadly I don't know a better alternative at the moment.

A good modem with possible limitations
*The modem delivers high speeds for a good price point. It does as advertised.*It is very compact and much smaller than I would have imagined.*The setup was easy. No issues. The app is not the greatest. It feels laggy most of the time, no matter the phones signal.*My main concern was the connectivity access to the internet when using "both" the 2.5 gb port & the 1 gb port at the same time. For me it was a deal breaker. I want my main work station to have a direct ethernet connection to my modem while extending the internet via a wifi router throughout my home. I currently have Xfinity and after some research I would need another IP address to gain access to both ports. My solution for me was to find a modem with a built in router. I hope more people are aware of that issue. As I am not sure other internet providers are similar to Xfinity? Yet it's information that should be shared.Lastly I cannot rate the fault of the modem if it's a service provider issue (feature). If it's an industry standard than Arris needs to advertise on their product you cannot receive service via both ports simultaneously.
