Found again! I recently picked up an orange and was going to try to peel it by hand. That’s a bit trickier for me these days and all of the sudden I remembered the old orange colored peeler which was always in my kitchen. Having moved 4 times in 6 years, I can’t remember the last time I saw it. I got out my iPhone, went to Amazon instantly and found my old trusty orange peeler(s). I ordered the pair and peeled my next orange with skill and ease. I’m so glad to have this simple kitchen item.

I remember using one of these orange peelers at my grandmas house some time ago and decided I needed one of my own. It works well and definitely helps with NOT ending up with orange nails. However, it has this squared part on the same end that it has the sharp end that scores, and I couldn’t figure out if that had some purpose. It looks like it’s supposed to do something but since it didn’t come with instructions, I was kinda just left guessing. I’m thinking it’s just where you place your thumb to hold it down, but I couldn’t be sure.

Peeling an orange is so convenient with this plastic tool. It scores the skin and flipping end-for-end allows you to get under the skin to remove large areas to get you where you want - eat the fruit. I purchased a second pair today for travel & convenience.

I use a knife but my husband LOVES these to peel citrus. Our old one ended up spending the winter in the compost bin, so I ordered more and my husband was happy once more.

This really works great for peeling and orange or lemon. Also does well for taking some of the thicker layers of pithe off.
