Works for me... but not for everyone
My daughters were running through our tupperware in their school lunches and creating a pain. They would grab a sandwich-sized container and put in a sandwich. Then a small container for a condiment. Another for a side. Etc, etc. Then they would put those in a lunch bag and put that in a book bag and give that to a gorilla to be tossed around the trapeze when the ringmaster wasn't looking (or carried onto a schoolbus, which is the same thing). When everything came home, the tupperware would be washed and sent to the dishwasher, the lunchbag washed and disinfected, and new ones used the next day. Seemed wasteful.Got these to use instead, idea being they could fill this (look ma, no tupperware!). It acts as natural portion control, and gets rid of the lunchbag and means only one thing to clean each afternoon. Kids loved them for a day. Then they put up with them for a day or two. Long story short, they are back to tupperware, messes, and a lunchbag drying rack in the kitchen.Part of this is old habits fighting the good fight. But these do represent a significant change. If you have not used bento boxes before now, be prepared to commit to a new lifestyle (I know it doesn't seem like much of a change, but it still requires getting used to). The portion sizes in these are much larger than others (I bought a few different varieties to see what the kids were most likely to use) and are generous for a well-rounded lunch. But they are much _smaller_ than a typical American lunch, so that will also take some getting used to.The boxes themselves are good - they appear to be molded out of a single piece of plastic, and have not given us any leaks. The internal dividers will not hold liquids away from one another unless the box is kept very flat and not accelerated too much. We found the best use was to put fairly dry dishes in each compartment, perhaps with a sauce in the middle division (which seals better against cross-leakage, but still won't prevent combinations if the box is tilted on its side or upside down - for instance, by being put in a bookbag and jumped upon by a circus).

Pleasantly surprised with this bento box
I recently started a new job in an office and bike commute in every day. This requires some planning for lunch and I wanted something sturdy and portable that would fit in my backpack. I was concerned this wouldn't be big enough as I do tend to have a bigger appetite, and I did buy some portioned glass containers too. I had planned to return the box, but then decided to give it a try and now it's all I use every day. I've been able to fit a full sandwich and veggie burger with bun and toppings in the large compartment, and the smaller compartments are perfect for sides. I often take veggies and use the sauce container for ranch dressing, and I've never had a leak issue. I love that it has the little utensils with it too. I have not microwaved it and probably won't, but it is so easy to fit in the fridge and so convenient. Plus I'm saving a ton of money in not eating out every day.The only minor annoyance is trying to clean the sauce container as it isn't a perfect circle and can be hard to get some of the sauce remnants out, but I have a little straw cleaning brush that has worked well for that.Very pleased with my purchase, it's a great little container for portable meals.

Perfect for work lunches
I was very curious about this bento box because of the price and because it is microwaveable. The size is perfect and the compartments allow for good variety. I was pleasantly surprised that the salad dressing did not leak through the smaller compartment. I don't know if a thinner dressing/liquid would fare as well, but I would think thicker yogurts or dressings would be fine. I have not tried microwaving yet, but it seems pretty durable so I would not think there would be any issues. It does say not to microwave over 3 minutes. Overall, it is a good size and not heavy. I wouldn't use for my kids because the latching system is a bit more complicated than their bento boxes, but I think it will be perfect for my lunches!

Functional Lunch Box
Very functional. Has everything I need for lunch. I like that it has the durable fork and spoon. Though the fork is all I ever use because it both fork and spoon, a spork I guess. Everything feels durable and not cheap. And I like that it is dishwasher, freezer and most of all microwave safe. The width is nice so that it is easy to grip. There is a round rubber logo piece on the top. It turns out, this piece is handy. I put my cup and other things on it and it keeps them from slipping, if I had to free a hand to get my keys. I am enjoying lunch with this box.
