Large bushy brushes
This is an ok set. I bought it only because it was on sale so cheap. I have so many brush sets, but figured for three bucks I could grab a small set .. it's nice to have sets dedicated to particular palettes and, well, I love brushes so I buy them a lot lol.I wasn't overly impressed with this set and did not find the brushes to be particularly useful for their intended purposes. They are too big and fluffy for the tasks they're labeled for.The Ultra Fine Liner Brush is wide, soft and does not have any flat edge - it is more rounded. It makes no sense that they have it labeled as an ultra fine brush because there is nothing fine about it. It won't give you a thin line and it is not stiff, so you can only use it with powder - you would not be able to use it with a cream liner for example. I actually use it for brow powder and it works good for that. The Angled Crease Brush is way to wide and bushy for creases. It is way better suited for all over color, or lids. It is super soft and fans out even more when you're using it, so it covers even more area than you already expect it to just by looking at its wide and full bristles. I almost wondered if the brushes in this set weren't mislabeled since none of them seem to be good for what they're labeled for. They're all over-sized and bushy. The Large Eye Brush is indeed large and again very full, soft and bushy. You could do an all over color with it, you could even contour or use it like a pointed powder brush. I actually use it to tone down and blend my shadow because it is so big and soft. The Petite Shading Brush is what I use for color just above the eyelid and/or on the eyelid. It is the perfect size for that. The smudge brush is what I use for contour right under the brow. It is really good for that and for getting inner corners of the eye etc. It is soft and picks up color well. It is way to soft to use for any real smudging.I haven't had any hairs fall out at all. The brushes are all very soft and do not prick or scratch your skin at all. They pick up color ok, but not as well as most of my other brush sets. It applies color more lightly as well, even when using highly pigmented brands. 70% of my shadows are Urban Decay and the rest are other higher end brands, no drugstore brands, so typically less is more and you get a lot of color with a light swipe. With these brushes it seems like I get even less color than usual. I think it is because they pick up and hold less since they're so soft and they do not apply a lot at a time since they're so soft and bushy.Handles are short (travel size) and easy to work with. They feel like hollow plastic.Bag is cute and sturdy.Overall it is an ok set, but you may be disappointed if you want it for the tasks specified on the handles. If you have other sets and are just grabbing another random set to use how you wish, then it is a good choice without spending too much. I have over 100 brushes and these got added to the collection and will be used with specific colors and for certain purposes, so it is not a loss, but if I had specifically wanted a liner brush, for example, I would have been disappointed.

Love, love, love EcoTools brushes!!!!!!
I absolutely love these brushes! For my entire high school career, I had been applying my eyeshadow with those sponge applicators. I thought I was living the high life. Boy, was I wrong! My sister had gotten a set of brushes and said that they were fantastic. I thought I'd shop around. I wanted to get some brushes from a cruelty-free organization, and something worth the price. I came across EcoTools and read nothing but good things. I thought I would try these. You can't beat the price for these amazing brushes! I will describe what you get:Large shadow brush: This brush is pretty big for an eye brush. It is very thick and pretty dense. It isn't as soft as natural haired brushes, but that is because these are synthetic. This brush is good for applying your light or medium eyeshadow color all over your lids.Crease brush: This brush is a little less dense. The brush is angled, making it great for applying that contour shade in the crease.Highlight brush: This is like a dome blender brush. It is not dense at all, and very soft. It is good for applying the highlight color under the brow, and could be used to blend.Detail brush: This one is my favorite of the five. It is basically a mini shadow brush. It is dense enough to pack on that color, but soft enough to get a nice, soft look. I use it to do detail contouring in the outer "v" and to apply shadow to the lower lash line.Smudge brush: This brush is like the detail brush in feel, but is more dome-shaped. It is great for smudging eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line. I also use it for applying the light shadows on the inner corners of my eyes.I have been using these for almost a year now. They are still in perfect condition, and I have experienced no shedding. These are quality brushes for a very good price.Tip: Washing your brushes is very important for hygiene and your brushes. I recommend washing them once a week if you use them every day. A natural shampoo can be made out of things you have in your home that disinfect, clean, and condition the bristles. All you need is 1 cup warm water, 1 tablespoon white vinegar, and 1/2 tablespoon dish detergent (preferable all natural). You put these in a bowl, swirl your brushes around in the shampoo, and swirl them in your hand until the water runs clean and a nice, soapy lather appears in your hand. Rinse thoroughly, dry with a towel, and hang them upside-down using clips and wire hangers! That way the water won't seep down into the glue and break it up, causing the bristles to fall out. You can also just lay them on their sides on a towel, but it takes forever for them to dry that way. You can also use brush guards to help the brushes keep their shape while drying.Bottom line: I love EcoTools brushes, and cannot wait to expand my collection! I would highly recommend these to a friend.

Lovely brush set!
I prefer to use an eyeliner brush and I use the no7 eyeliner pencil which is a lot thicker but doesn't budge once on. I needed a new brush and trawled the site for suitable ones. These attracted me as they are environment and animal friendly. The brushes are brilliant quality and a nice size for travelling with. The bag included is lovely. I'm really pleased that I got these, lovely and soft and no fallout at all. I would buy again and recommend.

Good for precision
These eye brushes are great for precision when applying and blending eyeshadow and smudging eyeliner. The range of sizes is very useful. The brushes are short so also great for travel. I also have some double ended brushes from the same make and love those too. I wash them weekly by swishing them in warm water with a bit of baby shampoo and then air dry them. I am wary of using brush cleaners as my eyes are very sensitive.

Beautifully soft bristles
I have used the full size eco tools brushes before. I bought this new set for travel. Items are as described. Beautifully soft bristles, compared to other brands in price range, much better feel, travel size. Happy with the selection of brush size.

Amazing brushes!
Ecotools is a fantastic underrated brand. These eye brushes cost less than many other "famous tools" but provide great results on makeup application. I would reccomend them for sure.
