Do not hesitate to buy this.
I paid about 120 for this 4 years ago. It’s cheaper now and worth every cent. It tears through juniper bushes like they’re nothing. I’ve used the crap outta this thing and provided minimal maintenance and it’s still going strong. It replaced a corded Black and Decker trimmer and the power and convenience isn’t even close.Light. Agile. Powerful. And with a 4 AH battery or more it just keeps on cutting.I am an admitted DeWalt fan but I do realize many of the tools I have are equaled or sometimes bested by the Milwaukee or Makita version of the same tool. But when DeWalt nails it- they do exactly that. And this tool, along with their battery powered pruning tool, is perfect.

Cutting is a breeze
Exactly what my husband wanted. He uses it to cut the shrubs and it does a magnificent job. It cuts right through, and it's tough. My 11-year-old uses it too supervised and it's easy to use. It has a medium weight on it and it does makes a lot of noise, but it gets the job done.

Dewalt rarely disappoints! A+++
It's relatively lightweight, has a thick handle so you arent going to get cramps/fatigue, it cuts amazing, quiet, durable, affordable and most important - it's built really well

Very Useful Tool around the House and Farm
This has turned out to be a very useful and versatile tool. I have a small farm and bush-hog walking paths along the fence lines. There's a lot of wild plant growth around the fence including wild blackberry vines, wild rose bushes, honeysuckle vines, small trees, etc. Often these plants spread along the edge of the paths, leading to scratches and impact hazards while mowing along the area with a tractor. I was able to walk the path and trim/clear the excess brush/vines/small limbs efficiently and easily. The trimmer also works very well on shrubs and is lightweight, yet has a long enough cutting bar to be a pleasure to use. Since I already had a number of 20V Max DeWalt tools and batteries, this was a no-brainer. I also plan to use this to top some older blueberry bushes, since the tool can cut up to 3/4-inch in diameter twigs/canes. I suggest that you spray the blades with lubricant after each use (I like Jack's Spray for this purpose), point the blades toward the ground and run the tool for about 5-10 seconds to spread the lube and then carefully wipe the surfaces down prior to putting it away. Contrary to some on-line comments, my tool came with a plastic scabbard. Very happy with this purchase.

Hedge trimmer
It's worth every penny. There's no cord to play with, it cuts through a hedge like butter, and it saves time from not playing around with gas-powered machines.

Good electric trimmer…2 downsides though
I bought this to replace two Greenworks trimmers, a 24v and a 40v both of which I’ve had a number of years. The accompanying Greenworks batteries, always pretty weak, have given up. I have several Dewalt 20v tools and batteries, so I went with that.This Dewalt trimmer is stronger than either of the other two trimmers, and trims hedges with ease, partly no doubt because it is new and the blades are their sharpest. The 20v delivers a lot of power for a long period allowing me to trim all my yard bushes with one 4-amp battery. The trimmer is fairly lightweight though final weight will depend upon which size 20v battery you use. Easy for me to handle, same for my spouse. The safety lock (thanks OSHA) is a bit cumbersome but workable, and the unit is quieter than my previous trimmers as well.So what don’t I like? The trimmer blades are 2” shorter than the previous ones, and you notice that small amount immediately. More reaching, more awkward handling with arms stretched out farther are the things immediately noticed. Lastly, the unit does NOT come with a sheath to protect the blades while not in use, and to protect anyone handling the unit. I understand this saves cost but I think this to be a foolish decision, one important enough to downgrade the rating to 4-star for this otherwise 5-star unit. Fortunately, one of blade sheaths from my previous trimmer fits adequately though it is slightly longer. You gotta wonder what bean counter thought this was a good idea, and in doing so undoubtedly got an internal promotion to the detriment of all of the consumers. Good job! Not.

Trimmer Works Great
The old trimmer was dull and I had to lug an extension cord around the yard. Plugging this DeWalt into an existing battery was so easy. Battery life is good. Unit does not weigh too much, I can reach up high with one arm for cutting those tall hedges. The blades are very sharp and can cut fairly thick branches. Maintaining the yard is so much easier now. Would recommend.

Hedgecutters
Dewalt brand doesn't disappoint. Handy cordless and lightweight still gets the job done. You still have to be there but makes the job easier.
