Really works
I hadn't used any type of masking fluid for decades as what was previously available ruined my artwork. I used these pens with some Liquitex masking fluid and it worked perfectly. Lines were easy to make and of uniform size. I fully recommend them.

Works well with masking fluid!
These work great for applying masking fluid. Made well and easy for anyone to use.

Meh.
Years ago, I purchased one of these….a single one. I saw this set and assumed it would offer me a variety of amounts of masking fluid that I would lay down on my watercolor paper wanting to achieve a *very* fine line. This set is three different sizes but the obvious difference is in the sizes of the handles, not so much the applicator tip. And the adjustment wheel is hollow and a little cheesy in how it feels between my fingers and the actual action of adjusting the flow. The set was inexpensive but I feel I should have gotten a better one even if it meant spending a little more. Perhaps, overall, these work better with a different fluid like ink rather than masking fluid. I still think this, even this set, is the best type tool for applying masking fluid.

Great for masking fluid...
... and I love the gummy eraser that comes with them. I purchased this set about four years ago, and have generally favored the smallest one for my uses. Over time the screws have bent or disappeared, and the masking fluid has gotten embedded enough to be difficult to clean. Still better, to me, than using a brush. I'm back for another set, and I have no complaints at this price and considering my use. Lay paint. Mask areas. Spatter stars. Heal soul.

Not very effective
The pens hold very little ink, compared to other similar ruling pens. They do not draw consistently, dry out quickly and do not start ink flowing in a predictable way. My guess is that the tips are not quite balanced so the drawings are inconsistent as a result.

Masking Fluid Ruling Pens with Glue Residue Erasers
I purchased this set of three primarily for use with masking fluid, and I happily discovered they'll use most any kind of inks that I have acquired for my Art Studio. From watercolor paints and thinned down acrylics to fountain pen inks and other fun solutions. The erasers pick up the dried masking fluid exceptionally well, with just a gentle rubbing. Both the ruling pens and the erasers work as advertised in the purchase description.

Works well
So, I bought these to use for masking fluid. While I haven't used them yet for that, I did try them out with ink. Works pretty well. I wasn't going to give too much of a review, as I thought they were a bit chintzy, because it looked like I was going to have to glue it back together. As I looked at the tool, I realized the top screws into the handle, it isn't just glued in. So keep that in mind. I think for the price, you can't go wrong, especially for beginners.
