The area in which I live can sometimes gets very cold but not icy just lots of very cold and dry weather. This makes it extremely difficult to breath while riding my bike to work or to school. I typically end up with a cold burning feeling in my throat and lungs after a few blocks of riding. This item solved that problem completely. I didn't put the filters on and just ran the tubes into my jacket where I could breathe the air that was warmed by my body (and no it didn't smell since I wasn't sweating and had a few layers between the intakes and my body). Since the filters were not on the unit I could breath full breaths without any resistance at a pace that was consistent with riding my bike. It also had the added benefit of making me look either completely crazy or way cool depending on your history and appreciation of science fiction or fantasy and role playing.

I really like relocating the heavy cartridge to my back. Also, the air in usually cleaner in the back.For example if I'm sanding, the duct is mostly in the front, less in the back.

Good masks, I'm currently taking care of covid patients and out hospital uses the north masks this one is a bit more comfortable than the one they issued me

Hubby suffers when he welds even with a mask, this moves your fresh air to the back away from your work. A must have for all welding, sanding, etc.

It’s hard getting used to the weight hanging off the back of your head, after 2 full days of welding overheads my neck is SORE! I wouldn’t recommend using if you have to look up all day. Probably works awesome for flats and horizontals, it’s good having the filters out of the weld plume. I didn’t notice any space saved compared to other low profile respirators, my hood still barely fits over the mouth piece.

I purchased this for my grandson, a welder who was working on galvanized metal without protection from the fumes. He loves it.I would recommend this to anyone welding in a high fume area. Customers should know that it is hard to find this item without knowing the part number BP1002.

This is fantastic! No more fumes and works great my Optrel hood.

The mask and head gear was a good fit. The air hose felt a little bit heavy over my shoulders with the added weight of the air filter cartridges. Will have to get used to it. I like the fact that the cartridges are not in your line of sight when in use.
