All might lights are hue. If someone was to turn the light off at the switch, would I be able to turn the light back on using the hue app/Alexa?

Yes if you wire the wall switch into the S1 and S2 terminals on the ZBMINI.

Uk no neutral wire, will this still work?

These devices are designed to be installed at the location of the light in the wall or ceiling, rather than behind the switch. While it is true that most homes in the UK are wired so that there is no real neutral wire at the switch location there should normally be a neutral wire at the light. For people who may not be aware - the UK historic standard has been to use a normal 3 wire mains cable from the light to the switch. Earth is used to Earth the switch and/or its metal wall box, Live remains live while the neutral wire is used as the return path for the switched live. In the past, people may have used the earth as a neutral replacement, but that becomes impossible if the consumer unit has any form of RCD protection.

How does the switch work when you are controlling via Zigbee? Does the switch become a toggle?

Yes, your physical switch will always cause the zbmini to toggle the circuit's state (or it should - sometimes mine fails to turn on the lights, but never fails to turn off; I have a support case open but, stupidly, they want a video of the light not turning on when I flick the switch).

do these zbmini connect directly to philips hue bridge/app without having to use an app like ewelink?

I have a number of these and as long as you get the hue compatible version then they connect directly to the hue app the 2 gang ones don't they need ewe link as I used this for control to garage door
