Works very well and reliable
I use it for the garage behind the apartment and we're quite far from the garage blocks, with many walls in between. This device works very well and never had any reception issues. The battery life is also very convenient.

Depends on your intended purpose
There are pro's and cons to this product and in my opinion it depends on what you want from this item. They are of course designed to warn you if someone comes onto your drive [or perhaps if a child's slips off your property through a gate].For me they are a motorbike deterrent! The back of my property is well shielded and the the only real entry point is from the front and down the drive, so i purchased a twin set with one one unit [that we call Ollie - Ollie the owl] on the drive itself and the other inside a tarpaulin walled lean too. We then plug them in at night when we go to bed, this acts as one of several security measures to protect my sons motorbike!!For me the biggest problem is the tones used and the length of these tones. Most tones are a mere 2-3 seconds and even on full volume are not enough to wake you. Though a couple of tones are a little louder and a tad longer. I would like to see some tones play for maybe 10-15 seconds so as to register more readily at night. Realistically i need the receiver on the landing upstairs so when my son leaves for work on an early shift he can unplug it at 3:30 am as he gets up. BUT i am not convinced it would be a loud enough or long enough tone to wake us if someone intruded. At the moment whilst the bike is off-road it is situated in our bedroom and would wake us if someone intruded. On the defo big plus side is the fact that it sees through the tarpaulin lean too wall - this is brilliant - it means A] it is hidden out of site initially and B] any intruder will NOT know we are being alerted to their presence. It is angled and positioned such that someone looking for the bike will be in it's line for several seconds [15-20] before they even open the lean too where they will continue to be in it's line of detectionPositioning is therefore key if like me it is to warn you of an unwanted night-time presence - as is your receiver!!For daytime surveillance of your drive and of someone approaching your door it is great, but for night-time it needs a louder and longer tone, so choose the loudest longest tone you can find and position it where it will be triggered repeatedly for best results. [really on one option available for this]We use this as one of a combination of deterrents including CCTV, a modified garage alarm, floodlight security, and a variety of bike locks. So it has it benefits but could be improved to make it so much better than it already is!!!

A heat sensor not a motion sensor
Bought these sensors for the front and rear of our property, they are plug and play should be affixed to a secure surface. The chime is loud and with the addition of the owls eyes lighting up it is easy to see when they are activated. Just to be clear these sensors pick up on heat not motion, so for example your car that has just started up and the engine is stone cold it won't be detected, however this has an advantage as you won't be alerted for every gust of wind in your garden if it were motion activated. It takes very, very little heat to activate so rest assured no one or a vehicle is getting past without announcing they're presence. Take your time deciding on the final location and do lots of testing until you are happy that you will get notified of anyone passing the sensor. As of yet I can't comment on the battery life but hopefully they are reasonable as the changing requires a screwdriver to open the weatherproof compartment. Would recommend.

Extra set of eyes
I have s ground floor balcony and i needed something to alert me to visitors when i was out of sight of the balcony. I plugged the warning owl in the back bedroom where i can see it. The sensor can be set to different alert sounds - barking dog, hooting owl etc. They eyes of the sensor also light up when triggered so suitable for those with hearing impediment.

Security sensors
I bought these 6 months ago and so have given them a good road test. They are superb and work exactly as described. They definitely give an extra level of security around your property at night.. I would not hesitate to recommend these to anyone . Easy install, easy setup.
