These seem longer than 12" so if you have hard soil it might be challenging to get them into the ground all of the way. I made great use of them when tacking down fencing and garden netting. Did as described.

They work well to hold down landscaping materials, just be very mindful on how hard you hammer bc they do have a tendency to bend.

I recently bought some landscaping edging that requires staking. The stakes cost more than the edging, so I wanted to find an alternative. I used smaller, heavy duty stakes that I used to stake outdoor Christmas decor , and every so often I put in these larger stakes. I did my first project a year ago and all the stakes are holding up exactly as anticipated. I did my second project a month ago and did not run into any problems. They are sturdy enough to hold down the edging, they don't rust, the appearance is irrelevant to me because they are hidden under mulch, but even if they were visible they're not objectionable. I think the metal stakes are more attractive than a plastic spike, which was the alternative. They are much less expensive than any alternative I found. They are thick enough and sturdy enough to pound into the ground without bending. I used a rubber mallet to pound them in. I'll be ordering more, and I have two more landscaping projects to complete.

Holds items securely. I used to secure bird bath and decorative garden items.

These are long enough they hold yard ornaments in place. Easy to use.

They hold my garden cover down pretty good , so far that’s all that matters
