I use a portfolio when I am hosting open houses or doing apartment tours. I find them much easier than a purse. I can find everything quickly and still make legible notes. So my portfolio is a really important tool. I didn’t expect much when I ordered this. I’d been using a fabric-covered one that was a total workhorse but didn’t look very impressive. I needed an upgrade but I never expected the replacement to be so practical. This piece is amazing, and I’ll never go back to my old one. It looks good, it smells great, and it fits a ton of stuff. Cannot recommend highly enough!

I switched jobs and wanted a new portfolio that I could keep for years. (My last two companies provided me a portfolio that had the company logo embossed in it...I wanted one of my own). I have never splurged on a portfolio but I highly recommend this one.Likes1) This is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.2) One of my "must haves" was for it to hold my calculator. I'm an engineer that uses HP's (RPN). I have an HP 35s and was hoping this would work. It feels like it was made for it. (slightly tight but I'm "working the leather in" and using mink oil.3) Craftsmanship is very good.Dislikes (these are nitpicks items...not enough to take away a star)1) The color was darker than I expected. I ordered the lighter color one but it looks like the darker version (except one color versus two-tone). But I kept going back-n-forth on which one I wanted before I ordered it...so I really didn't care much. It's still great looking.2) Leather is a bit tight. I've bought some mink oil and have given it a few treatments. I also am putting my calculator in/out to "form the leather to it".3) It came in a cloth bag the was shrink wrapped. If I was giving this as a present, I would find a box to put it in.I expect to use this for the rest of my career (I'm 48). And I also expect more "personality" to come out with daily use (little nicks/scratches in the leather).

Arrived promptly & wrapped and protected well for shipping. No defects. Like all new leather products I recommend conditioning it before use. As others have noted, the leather was stiff and felt a little dry. That is to be expected. I took two evenings to give it a deep treatment all over with mink oil each night, letting it sit to soak in well overnight. One final light treatment this evening and it looks and feels wonderful. The leather is soft and pliable, and it has protection from any light rain or drops that might befall it. Ready for use! As I am over 50, I wanted a portfolio that, treated right, will last my lifetime and be worth handing down to my son. This will do it.

I have been using portfolios such as this for over 30 years in my business. This is the nicest one I have used by far, and at a decent price. I got the dark brown model and it looks great. Very well made in all respects. I'm sure I will get many years of use out of it. Highly recommend.

I purchased this for my husband about a year ago. I did a review at that time solely based on appearance and how much my husband liked it. This is an update based on recent experience. The item still looks great but I recently discovered the zipper no longer closes on the book. It is still attached but when you try to zip it won’t close. Apparently it has been this way for a few months and my husband never said anything. I only noticed today because I picked his book up off the chair at church when we were leaving and tried zip it. Considering he only uses the portfolio twice a week for church, and this happened less than a year of having it, I feel it should have lasted longer than it has for the price I paid. Not certain if this is the norm or if we just got one with a defaulted zipper. Still nice quality minus the zipper but I would not recommend. No warranty so now I have to look for a new one for my husband.

It lacks the pull-out leather handles but it is very nice and has real live "full space" for a tablet, real pens (not Barbie's pens but Trish's pens). Space to put a full business-sized pad, a real calculator, a cell, and two sides with compartments to store vitals and signed contracts. One is zipped the other is open. The bookcase zips closed as well for security. I would purchase again and give as a gift to a dear one.

Great quality

This is a beautiful portfolio. It is very well constructed and heavy duty. It is not slim by any means and by my measurement is 2 1/4" thick. So if you are looking for a slim, lightweight item, this is not it. There are multiple pockets and compartments inside. I love that there are slots for 3 writing implements rather than just one. The stitching is first rate and leather beautifully crafted.I have two issues. The first is there is a 3" cut/slice/scratch on the back of the portfolio (see photo). It cannot be buffed out as it is not superficial. While not deep, it is clearly visible and should have been caught by quality control. It is not a "normal" wear and tear mark. Something scratched it and they packaged and sold it anyway. Not cool.Second is the zippers that close the unit are not smooth. When you close the zippers, they are rough and take some manipulating both when you start zipping and when going around the corners. For a $100 item, these could be better. I question their ability to hold up long term.

Well made product. Will buy other products from this company.
