Has anyone tried this with a visor? I'm trying to avoid "hat head" when walking dogs at night. Would a visor stay up?

I have been using one of these handy little lights with a visor for 3 + years. It is so light in weight you don't even know it is there. Works great. I too use it when walking my dogs at night.

Appropriate as a book reading light, or too bright?

This is relatively bright. It lights the path enough for limited visibility on night runs, so it may be a bit too bright for reading in a dark room, especially if you're trying to be a little discrete.

Can you rotate the light down? I want to see where I'm running approx 1-3 feet ahead.

No - - it is in a fixed position. The only way that you will see 1- 3 feet ahead is if you tilt your head down. However, when I run, I need to see at least 10 feet ahead. For that scenario you would need a light that puts out at least double what this light does.
