I suffer from genetic liver disease and Type II diabetes. On the recommendation of a friend, I began taking this supplement about 6 weeks ago.I have noticed a significant increase in energy, and a more even energy throughout the day.This is an inexpensive supplement, definitely worth trying. The first several days I took it, I felt jittery, but that has subsided completely.

With a molecular weight of 386.3 g/mol, it contains only 10% elemental calcium. It has a bulk density of 0.51 grams per cubic cm. So unfortunately it's labeled serving of 1/4 tsp contains a meager 63 mg calcium. For reference, the adult RDA of calcium is 1000 mg.What I like about it though is that a 1/4 tsp dose can be completely dissolved in 13 fl oz boiling water. That compares favorably against calcium citrate, which is almost completely INsoluble in water. So if you predissolve the calcium orotate before consuming it, then you can expect your GI system to fully absorb it, even via an empty stomach.Perhaps it should be considered primarily as a source of orotate rather than calcium. If the orotate produces beneficial hormonal effects without adverse side effects, then it could be a great value so long as the dosage is low to moderate.The purity of this product is glaringly unknown! Who knows what residual chemical intermediates it may contain. Supplements such as this one should be shipped with an assay of its production batch.UPDATE 12-1-16Do not take this or ANY other type of calcium supplement either. Good price and I can control the dosage. The company needs to be more transparent. I can't find anything about the company or any independent testing. The source would be helpful too. I don't trust anything from China.

Seems to be good calcium. Used it once on a sandwich, peanut butter with other things like humus and tomato sauce. Used a measured dose and sprinkled on my sandwich. Did not taste it at all. One dose is 500 mg. I just stay with that. Get the rest of calcium from kale and soy milk etc.

I mix it with my shake. It does not have a taste and I feel stronger. I recommended it

Easy to mix with any liquid or sprinkle on food. Much easier than swallowing pills. Really like this product and made a difference in my bone density tests so I was able to stop taking medication for Osteopenia.

Seems to be doing it's job!
