As they did with "Amish Grace", the authors present Amish society in an honest and accurate way, without any hint of a jaundiced or secular viewpoint. However, they do take care to address the concerns and objections raised by outsiders. It is an inspiring work.

One of the most interesting books I have read in a long time. It just amazes me how these Amish live and to see how happy they are at the same time. Their life is so simple in living without all the unnecessary. I wonder at times if we all were more like them if this world would be an easier place to survive. Evil is not in their vocabulary..not in any way shape or form. They forgive no matter how harsh someone can be or how harsh their lives can be. They get over things and just move on. If you like to read about other cultures then this is the book for you. Read straight through, stopped once just for dinner then read till the end. Wonderful exciting read.

This was an excellent little book on the Amish way of life. Concisely written and informative as well as being an enjoyable read.If you want to know more about the Amish this book, which is compiled of articles written by the Amish for their own newsletter is excellent. It is a study in family values and simplicity about a group that has managed to survive as a "set apart" society by emphasizing the important things in life, the qualities that tend to last; the family circle, friends and faith in God,without the distractions of television, cell phones, over-the-top materialism, etc. I enjoyed it very much.

Although a bit dry, this book documents the life of the Amish, their beliefs and practices in a straightforward, clear manner with reputable documentation. Although anecdotes would make it more enjoyable, it serves its purpose and covers a lot of issues in a detailed way. It's chapter organization makes it easy to read in small doses. I completed the entire book and learned a great deal.

I have been trying for many years to find a readable Book on the Amish. The Amish Way is that book because it goes back in history giving great details of them starting in Europe and coming to America. I truly enjoyed the other bookAmish Grace. This book fills in all the details as to why they believe the way they do. They have a lot to teach all of us Christians on how to live closer to God.

This was a very well written book. The authors did their research well. I'm pleased with the personal interviews with some good ol Amish folks. I was very pleased the author did not use their names in the interview to respect their faith. This book was so well written that some of their beleifs are making me a closer to my Lord Jesus Christ.

Viele Aussagen von amischen Menschen zeigen deren Denkweise auf und machen deutlich, dass es sich keineswegs um "verbohrte, altmodische" Persönlichkeiten handelt, sondern um eine alternative Lebensweise, die den Menschen, die sich dafür entschieden haben hilft, sich auf elementarere und wesentlichere Dinge des Lebens zu konzentrieren.
