Bodleian Library The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám: Illustrated Collector’s Edition

It includes lovely time period illustrations. The cover boards are excellent. I own many versions of this book, and was looking for a nice edition to 'gift' to people - and this is excellent, and good value for the price of this most timeless classic

You can't go by me. I wrote a book on Omar Khayyam. I am not Objective.But this one is very very good.These people studied their Omar in the same library I did --- the Bodleian at Oxford, near London England.The Rene Bull pictures are fine. Not like mine. But fine.The Introduction is excellent.If you want mine, go to the bookshelf of Robert Fenton Gary at Amazon.Mine is not any specific Edition. It is what I think are the best Rubai after looking at all the Editions and picking the best. So my book does not give the whole of any of the five Editions.It's my Late Night Thoughts on Reading Fitzgerald's Omar.But I cannot praise this Susan Scollay, Melbourne, 2014 book high enough. It is very very fine. I've seen most of what's out there. This is head and shoulders above almost all of them.After you get mine, get this one.

I totally agree with commenter A Crabtree: the quality of this book doesn’t justify the price. This is not what I would call a coffee table book. Nice enough, but really nothing exceptional.

Jede Seite enthält ein schönes Bild. Allerdings ist es nur in der Dicke eines Heftes und die Erklährungen sind leider sehr kurz. Auch ist nicht der Originaltext in Persisch enthalten.Nicht wirklich dem Preis entsprechend.

This is a beautiful book and was more gorgeous than I expected having read the low-rating reviews....I am not sure what those people were expecting (gilt edged pages?) for the price?
