Truly plug and play & tool free
After testing several so-called “universal” M.2 enclosures, this is the first one that actually delivers. The Sabrent Tool-Free M.2 NVMe/SATA Enclosure supports both NVMe and SATA M.2 SSDs (M-Key and B+M Key), and in my case, it worked flawlessly with a 1TB NVMe and a 256GB SATA drive — truly plug and play, no firmware updates, no USB setting tweaks, no hassle. The build quality is outstanding. It's made from solid, thick aluminum, giving it a premium feel and excellent heat dissipation. The tool-free, hinged design makes drive installation incredibly fast — it literally takes seconds to swap drives. This is especially useful if you regularly clone or rotate SSDs.The included USB-C to USB-C cable is high quality, and long enough for desk use, though I wouldn’t mind a bit more length. One small gripe: I wish they had included a USB-C to USB-A adapter or a second cable. Not every system has native USB-C, and an adapter would make this even more versatile out of the box.Performance-wise, it lives up to the 10Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard. Both SSDs I tested reached their expected speeds without thermal throttling, thanks to the aluminum housing acting as a heat sink.In summary: This is a fantastic, well-designed enclosure with true dual-protocol support, excellent thermal performance, and reliable USB connectivity. If you're looking for a versatile external SSD enclosure that just works, this is it.Highly recommended.

Quality and Functional Product. Well designed and Sturdy
Metal heatsink is functional, with a thermal pad included inside to wick heat from your M.2 SSD. The main body and latch mechanism is made from plastic but I've no concerns at all regarding quality. The plastic appears to be used in the right places for the price point without compromising functionality.20cm USB-C to USB-C cable is included (but no USB-A adapter, so just a heads up).Really simple but good design that allows for really easy opening and closing without tools. It's really convenient if you want to swap out the SSD (like I was looking for). This is capable of accepting multiple formats of M.2 ssd as well as multiple lengths. The SSD is secured with a plastic turn-tab, maintaining the toolless approach to this design

Sleek design and stable under load
I am using this as an external drive on Mac sequoia with no issues at all. Placed a cheap Kingston ssd inside and it works perfectly hosting my ollama models. The enclosure does get hot when transferring large amounts of data (around 600gb of mixed file sizes), so ensure there is some clearance.

Certainly worth the money I paid for it
Was great value for money when I got it, seems a very decent quality item that's very simple to get into and is as fast as you can expect out of 10Gbps USB3.1.

Really handy
Great little enclosure. I used it to transfer my documents from my old pc ( nvme gen.3 ) to my new one (nvme gen.4 ) after I had installed the graphics card and blocked the spare nvme port. It comes with a usb-c cable so it was pretty quick. Good build quality and worked right out of the box.

Reliable, fair-priced solution from Sabrent.
I do not like the physical qualities of the enclosure, it is quiet simple and not fascinating to operate. But I can see why they did that. It is a square, hinged and clipped design meant to be opened and swapped out without a tool by a push of a button - which is a quality many can appreciate. It does have a few plastic parts in it's design and only time will tell how long they last. One thing I do like is that the enclosure operates at the manufacturer specified performance without a fault once again unlike many other awful Chinese enclosures, and products in general I have tried so far. My previously purchased 2.5 inch HDD enclosures from Sabrent were also reliable and worked as specified, and it is definitely a reputable brand that does not cost much, and for that it gets 5 stars.Thank you Sabrent for not wasting my time for providing a solution for a price I can appreciate.

Exceptionally constructed screwless NVMe enclosure that just works
This enclosure is clean and made of quality materials. No screws are required to install or remove NVMe drives and all it requires is to push a little button on one end to open it. As a side note, DO NOT remove the "cover" on the heat pad inside the enclosure. It is conductive and removing the top cover will stop it from working. Source: I peeled it (facepalm). Thankfully, pressing it firmly back together seems to have fixed it.2 year warranty from Sabrent, and buying the enclosure gets you a free copy of Acronis True Image from the Sabrent website. Speed is fantastic for an external drive and it works perfectly with my laptop.

SABRENT SSD CASE
Needed the enclosure to clone my old laptop 256Gb SSD card which was failing to a new 1Tb Blue WD SSD card - I bought both together . Quality piece of kit, precision manufacture, incredibly simple to use and fits all sizes of SSD card. I now have the old 256Gb SSD card in it and use it as an external drive - at least until it packs up. But yeah, highly recommend this enclosure. Oh! One last point I should mention is that it has a USB-C connection so make sure it will connect to your device or that you have an adaptor.
