The Broken TokenProp Coins - 20mm Silver Ancient Greek Themed Gaming Coins Pack of 15, Historical Prop and Novelty Coins

This is my 5th set of penny-sized silver coins from this company. Out of the package, they look dark and dull, almost like gray plastic, but if you polish them, they get shinier on the raised parts while remaining black in the grooved parts. These are not plated in nickel or zinc like many other fantasy game coins - it's just the base metal all the way through, so it is darker than silver, but once you polish them, they look like a tarnished ancient silver coin. I use them as a game currency, and it's nice to know that there is no plating to wear off. I also get the tiny copper coins from this company - just got my 6th set of those. Most held up well, but recently, I got a set that had such thin copper plating that it was already worn through in places and the coins barely looked copper even where it wasn't worn through. You definately can't polish the copper coins because they are thinly plated.

I bought some replica Greek and Roman coins earlier in the summer when I was in Europe. I thought these were similar. They are not!
