I've had the best shave ever with this razor. The adjustable gap really lets me keep control and I love the solid heavy feel of it. I no longer need to "pull" my razor through the stubble, it cuts effortlessly.

Well built, quality fit and finish, good handle length for my shovel hands. A heavy razor, which I prefer. Head is slim enough to allow for easy maneuvering. Adjustment allows me to really dial in an extremely close shave that remains comfortable over all areas of my face and neck. Paired with good quality blades (i use feather and have for the last 20 years), this razor is more than capable of handling even coarse, tough beards. Can’t fault it; excellent product.

A lot of razor for a reasonable price. Very nice hefty item is this Vikings Blade razor. Arrived this morning and I was able to use it straight away. I plopped it onto a scale and the advertised weight of 134 grammes is spot on. The blade adjustment is smooth and precise in operation as shown in the video, although it doesn’t click in place and means the minor inconvenience of eyeballing when lining the arrow with the desired setting number. In use, the weight of the razor does all the work with no need to push it against the skin, greatly minimising risk of nicks and cuts. The knob on bottom of the handle opens the butterfly doors smoothly with no slop or free play in the mechanism. The head is slim enough that I can see what I’m doing when shaving under my nose. Large openings in the base of the head make it easy to rinse and clean. I like to buy and try razors in various price ranges. This one would be in the 30 - 60 Euro range (in Ireland) and is way better than any of the cheaper ones I have tried. I would have given it a 5 star rating if the adjustment had click in place function. Excellent value for money overall and no regrets.

Robustly made. Very well packaged. I have wet shaved for years, but every razor design is different, so still learning this ones touch. Feels good to hold, even with a soapy hand, and the combed edge seems to work well. Minor issues are the corner of the blades can nick if not careful, and as a spectacle wearer and not worn when shaving, the adjustment markings could be a lot more prominent to make life easier.

I have shaved for 40 years using a double edged razor. I bought this one for the adjustable feature and the price. The adjusting mechanism is always loose and can be moved if you brush your finger against it. When you look at the head, blade clearance and angle you can see it routinely doesn't sit flat or true. This will cause you problems when shaving. Its also very hard to see the engraved marks to know what position you are in on the dial. I am sending this back, maybe I got a bad one, who knows? Solidly built. Nice and heavy. Two different edges for coarse and fine shaving. Takes a few shaves to get used to using especially very close shaving.

Five-star razor, I love the heft and the adjustable razor blade spacing is excellent, I use level 3 with Derby half-razors. I took a star off because it's more expensive to buy on Amazon.co.uk than it is to buy on Amazon.com and ship to the UK.

The FIRST thing to consider while using this item is that, you should not be in a hurry to do that 2 minute shave, splash and leave for the day. For that - use a Philishave. Relax. Organize your blades, shaving brush, shave cream, warm water, antiseptic solution, etc. Let the first brush strokes wet the stubble first. It will loosen the skin and make the hair soft. After a rich lather up, use a medium setting of 4-5 and gently let the weight of the razor fall on the skin and with a good blade (I use 7 o'clock super platinum) with a few repeated strokes, the results are bound to be excellent. Again, one should not hurry. The habit of taking a long swipe with the cartridge razor from top to bottom of the face will not work for swivel butterfly systems, and this piece is genuinely a master of its art. I refrained from writing a review till I had used it for about a month at least, and with this experience I can say that it does take some time to get used to. First of all - as with automatic watches and fountain pens, this is a vintage product. I repeat, one should not hurry. Relax and enjoy the leisurely comfort (almost an indulgence) of A-1 grade shaving. I have another Viking Emperor - the MEIJI edition (Vintage Bronze and Raven Black) and I use it in another city where I have a parallel establishment. Both these products need to be handled with care and due diligence - much like a coveted TAG or the Seamaster Professional.....so it is, with these razors. Welcome to elegant shaving - I am thoroughly satisfied, and will use due discretion to decide, whom, among my friends and relatives, should I gift these items to, when I purchase again. Hasta la fecha y el poco uso que le vengo dando, es una máquina robusta y que afeita perfecta dependiendo de la cuchilla que uses, y el tema regular el galp de salida es algo que solo se nota en el minimo y máximo, los números entre medio a mi parecer son bastante imperceptibles. Pero a grandes rasgos es una maquina muy buena.

EVALUACION RASURADA CON RASTRILLO VIKINGS BLADE THE EMPEROR ADJUSTABLE SAFETY RAZOR Sábado 3 de Septiembre, 2022: El rastrillo llego dentro de plazo, bien empacado, y sin daños a los empaques. El rastrillo se ve en perfectas condiciones, y con muy buena presentación. No parece tener defecto alguno. Venía sin hoja de rasurar, razón por la cual tuve que esperar 1 día para probar el rastrillo. Lo probé en el vapor del club deportivo aplicando a mi barba un aceite para antes de rasurar, que hago con aceite de almendras dulces mezclado con aceite esencia de eucalipto, que yo mismo preparo. Coloqué una hoja nueva de la marca STAR en el rastrillo, y lo ajusté al valor 3 para corte suave. Me enjaboné la barba de 3 días con jabón y brocha, y empecé a rasurarme. Sentí como que con el rastrillo ajustado a 3 casi que no cortaba la barba, y lo aumenté a 7. Aun a este ajuste, mas agresivo, no sentía que cortara la barba. Hubo que pasar el rastrillo muchas veces para lograr la rasurada a ras que obtengo con un rastrillo Guillette con repuesto de 5 hojas. Con el rastrillo Vikings Blade, estimo tardé tres veces mas en que sintiera la rasurada que logro con el rastrillo Guillette. También noté un ligero ardor al enjuagarme la cara. En general, si no fue completamente satisfactoria esta primera experiencia, habrá que continuar haciendo muchas mas pruebas. Martes 6 de Septiembre, 2022: Me razuré nuevamente en el vapor del club deportivo usando la misma hoja de rasurar, aplicando a mi barba el aceite para antes de rasurar. El rastrillo lo ajusté al valor 7 para corte. Me enjaboné la barba de 3 días con espuma enlatada, y empecé a rasurarme. Nuevamente sentí como que con el rastrillo ajustado a 7 casi que no cortaba la barba. Aun a este ajuste, mas agresivo, no sentía que cortara la barba. Hubo que pasar el rastrillo muchas veces para lograr la rasurada a ras que obtengo con un rastrillo Guillette con repuesto de 5 hojas. Con el rastrillo Vikings Blade, estimo tardé tres veces mas en que sintiera la rasurada que logro con el rastrillo Guillette. También noté un ligero ardor al enjuagarme la cara. Hubo que pasar el rastrillo muchísimas veces para lograr la rasurada a ras que obtengo con un rastrillo Guillette con repuesto de 5 hojas, a los 25 usos. Con el rastrillo Vikings Blade, estimo tardé unas 5 veces mas en que sintiera la rasurada que logro con el rastrillo Guillette. También noté un ligero ardor al enjuagarme la cara. Domingo 11 de Septiembre, 2022: Me rasuré nuevamente en el club deportivo, pero fuera del vapor, usando la misma hoja de rasurar (4 usos), El rastrillo lo ajusté al valor 7 para corte. Me enjaboné la barba de 3 días con espuma enlatada, y empecé a rasurarme. Nuevamente sentí como que con el rastrillo ajustado a 7 casi que no cortaba la barba. Aun a este ajuste, mas agresivo, no sentía que cortara la barba. Hubo que pasar el rastrillo muchísimas veces para lograr la rasurada a ras que obtengo con un rastrillo Guillette con repuesto de 5 hojas. Con el rastrillo Vikings Blade, estimo tardé mas de 5 veces en que sintiera la rasurada que logro con el rastrillo Guillette. También noté un ligero ardor al enjuagarme la cara. En resumen: La hoja de rasurar ASTRA hay que cambiarla por una nueva a la 4ta a máximo 5 usos. El rastrillo en sí, está muy bien fabricado, no tengo queja alguna sobre el rastillo, pero este sistema de rasurar, antiguo, deja que desear. En vista de que compré caja con 100 hojas de rasurar, las continuaré usando hasta que se acaben. A ver si al continuar usándolas encuentro la manera de obtener una rasurada mas al raz, a la que estoy acostumbrado. Por lo pronto ya estoy viendo la posibilidad de comprar una Gillette Maquina para Rasurar Eléctrica Fusion 5 ProGlide Power. Tuve un modelo anterior a este, eléctrico, que me gustó bastante. Considero son algo mejores que los que no son eléctricos. De hecho, cuento con uno de estos en mi estuche de viajes.
