The capacity is the main point, you don't want to file every single day, you want to be sure you left water for your dog for quite a lot of day. I have purchase 2. Then one is always clean and get ready to refile.

Pretty spectacular design flaw which should be disclosed to pet parents.The design of this unit was made to make sure most of the water is available to the front of the unit (where pets drink from) that said, a void exists in the rear of the unit where water cannot normally flow but with all things water grime and eventually mold will get back there. When I tried to simply “flush it out” it’s designed in a way that I could not get the water out and had to dismantle the unit. Taking it apart was not impossible but it’s not intuitive, had to simply yank the top section away from the bottom.I’d say if you get this, beware you’ll need to clean far more than you are used to but definitely do it mold can cause severe illness that can be tricky to track down.

I used to have a LeBistro, for my last dog, same size. It was a simple drop in affair. You filled up the bottle, which was just like five gallon water bottle for a regular water dispenser, and you turned it over onto the stand/bowl and sat it down. Simple, easy, no muss, no fuss. Now they have this "locking lug" mess with a wide mouth on the bottle. It spills water everywhere no matter what I do. Even if I try to put the bowl on it upside down and set the whole thing down, I end up with a mess and water all over the floor.I hate this thing and I dare not fill it all the way up.Why did they have to mess with a winning design that worked?? I will not be buying another.

Best Auto waterer I have had. As my other review on the feeder I wasn't impressed with the size but that was my own fault for buying it based on price and not actual size. I was looking for something for our dogs and this didn't cut it. It would maybe work for small dogs just not anything medium to large size like our German Shepherds. So for the cats it is great. They used to paw at it before because the water stays so clean that they couldn't see the bottom. However, this is a good thing since some of the others go green with algae after a while. We clean it once ever month or so. And never had a green dispenser!

Arrived broken. There are numerous clips around the edges to keep a seal, that also allow you to take it apart for cleaning.When I first filled it up and put it down, the entire contents of the 'jug' filled into the bowl, then continued to release every last drop onto my floor.I was able to get around this issue by using hot glue to seal the areas where the clips would not hold. Not an ideal solution, but I was already stuck with the product, so better than nothing.I would not recommend this.See my photo for a picture of one of the broken clips. There were two broken clips in total.Terrible quality control, or a broken return got sent to me. Either is unacceptable.Buy at your own risk.

Terrible terrible terrible the design and quality here is terrible! I would give 0 starts if I could. This is NOT the same as the Le Bistro I was finally replacing after 15 years strictly because the old one was "stolen" and used as a chew toy. This version is flimsy and cheap and the gap between the base and the top makes it COMPLETELY unsanitary. Disgusting, I can't imagine leaving this just sit; I'd be inviting and waiting for my dog to get sick! Unfortunately, since it was a replacement and I planned to use it right away, as soon as it arrived, I took all the stickers off, took it apart and washed it first thing so I could put it to use before I noticed the gap. Now I don't think I can return it. Major disappointment, don't waste your money!
