Can this be emptied and reused?

No, sharps containers are not made to be emptied, but can be dropped off at any pharmacy, your dr office, a hospital, fire station. for disposal, not emptying.

about 1"x2" and the hole is 3/4 inch

Is this big enough to hold a couple of autoinjectors? I have a large sharps container for home use, just looking for something small for travel.

If the auto-injectors are for Humira then no these containers are too small

Does it close without permantly locking?

Yes, you can push the lid down and it will stay temporarily locked. When you want to permanently lock it you push the tabs in the hinged door down into the lid.
