Very nice meter movement
This meter movement is very sensitive and the backlight does a great job of illuminating the scale. Easy to read, even from some distance. I used a nibbling tool to cut a rectangular hole in my aluminum enclosure and it made for a very clean looking installation.

Not actually a VU meter
This meter has a lovely traditional VU meter scale and great LED illumination. But it is just a DC microammeter (500 microamps full scale) and requires additional circuitry to measure audio (AC) levels in dB. When connected directly to an audio source, the needle DOES NOT MOVE.

VU Meter
VU meter arrived in what appears to be good condition. No assembly instructions, technical information or schematic is supplied. Minus first star. Black plastic bezel and supplied mounting hardware is awkward to assemble but finally got it together. Mounting meter in an enclosure will be a dexterity challenge. Minus second star.
