It is not thick enough for me. I loaned it to a friend who was thinking about buying one. After trying it out she found that her wool pad was superior to this gel pad. I don't even bother putting it on the saddle anymore. It's just not very effective.

will this slip on a non-suede saddle?

No. It doesn't slip. A piece of advise though, keep the cushion flat. If it warms up, then gets twisted or wrinkled, then cools down, it will hold its twisted shape and be unusable.

Does the loop that goes around horn big enough for a Wade type horn?

Not sure how big that horn is ..this loop has give I think u could work it over a horn as long as it wasn’t a big Spanish horn. It fits great and feels even better!!

Will this pad help to make my saddle less slippery

No, this is only held in place with two elastic straps. It definitely makes the saddle more comfortable to sit in but it will not help hold you in the saddle.
