Is this an actual 20W Hitachi product that's been around since the 70s or is this more like the vibratech knockoff with the lightweight 10W motor?

The one I received was a 10W Intertek knock-off unit, definitely NOT the 20W original

You can also buy a variable speed controller that you can use like an extension cord. Hitachi plugs into the speed controller, speed controller plugs into wall. Though possible future purchasers may want to buy from https://hitachimagic.com for the "no doubt about it" real deal. Granted it is the 260 version (or 270 cordless, meh), if you want the 250 version from eons ago... maybe you'll get lucky with an unopened hand me down? But I wouldn't trust such a thing on my worst enemies "sore muscles".

Is there discreet packaging and is it shipped through a regular company

I think it was shipped by UPS but it was in a big bubble Manilla envelope package. Once it's opened tho...there it is. Start complaining of a sore leg muscle as a cover
