No, a1.5” ID ring will be too big and will slide over the holding rings on the socket

What is the input pipe thread: 1/8" ips or metric 10mm ? compatible with standard lamp tube?

The item is a quality item I say if your looking for that type of fixture buy it and figure out the rest. In May application I never used the threads

Looks like solid brass to me. They exhibit evidence of being machined rather than stamped or pressed. I like them just fine.

how do you attach the wires?

The top is held in place with the knurled ring that screws off, than the internal bulb fixture slides up and out with the knob switch. You can wire it then. There are 2 brass screws that hold the wire.
