Random House Books for Young Readers Minecraft Blockopedia

Great for any Minecraft fan and dedicated player.
The Mojang books always deliver, but I was particularly wowed by this one. The book comes in a box and is actually a hexagonal shaped book, to look like a Minecraft block. Each page that introduces the block has a cool full page image that covers the hexagon three way the grass block does on the front cover. It isn't strictly blocks too, covering every item from ores to flowers to fence to brewing stand to Redstone repeater to command block to Dragon egg (You get the picture!). It's also a huge book with over 300 pages.Loads of facts about each block (blast resistance, light level etc) and lots of little tips and hacks for using them. For example, I didn't know that you could make wool from 4 spider string, making survival easier if you can't find enough sheep quickly; or that if you arrange correctly, just 4 water blocks can irrigate 320 farmland blocks; or that you can use sugar cane as a breathing tower to explore the ocean depths as it doesn't let water in.

Great Little Book for Minecraft Enthusiasts.
I purchased this book for my 13-year-old son who has only recently got into Minecraft, and he loves it. It is a book for beginners and more advanced players alike, telling you about every block you’ll come across in the game. Though bear in mind this book was published in 2014, 5 years ago, and I am not sure what new blocks have been introduced into the game since the publication of this book. However, my son tells me that so far, he has been able to identify all the blocks he has seen in the game as being in this book. He loves the fact that this book is hexagonal in shape (a 2D representation of a 3D block) and the information within is pitched at a level that a child won’t be bogged down by tedious amounts of words. It tells you what each block type does and its properties in just the right amount of information. Not only does it tell you about all the naturally occurring blocks in the game from dirt to precious metals, but it also tells you about the things you can craft, such as the crafting table. The book is split into various sections:IntroductionGlossary of termsNaturally Generated (soil, stone etc)Ores and Minerals (iron, gold etc)PlantsLiquids and GasesNether and End (blocks with magical properties as I understand it)Player Created (wood planks, bricks, TNT etc)Utility (beds, crafting table, cauldron etc)Mechanisms (doors, lamps, buttons etc)Creative Modes (“Mob” heads)The book is of great quality with thick colourful pages (311 in total) with a nice hard cover to keep it protected. So, a great book for Minecraft fans of all ages and skill levels.

Just as described
Arrived when it was supposed to, was exactly as described (slight damage to box, book in excellent condition) at a bargain price. My son loves it, it tells him all about each block, where to find it, what you can do with it etc. Have used the book people before and have not been disappointed.

Good for older fans
Great gift for a minecraft fan, better suited to the older fans if the game rather than young ones. The book is high quality, packed full of facts and info. The book comes in a nice box, looks great, great price too!

Early minecrafters will find a lot in this book to love, experienced minecrafters not so much
My daughter loves this book. Carries it around so much that the binding is going wonky (it's a fairly heavy/large book). Her minecraft-crazy friend tells me that he didn't learn anything from it, though our daughter learned a lot. So, if you've got an experienced minecrafter there's probably not a lot in it that will be new to them. The presentation is great, though. The pictures are great. It's a really nice book.
