Disappointed
I had high hopes for this product. Unfortunately, the elasticity of the laces will not allow you to snug it down enough to be of any use for duty boots. You would end up with a feet full of blisters if you were to take it out for a hike or wear it all day on duty.DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS!! It said to cut the laces 4-5 inches from the lock. I actually gave myself an extra inch and cut it right at 6-inches. The result was I was unable get the boot off until I cut the laces thus ruining the firs set. So I had to use the camo version on my desert boots which makes it look so stupid that I might actually cut that one off and go back to the original laces. I was not about to buy another tan kit. What a waste of money.I cannot in good conscience recommend this item.

LEO tested and approved
-I've had these on my duty boots, since 2019. The only reason I'm buying new laces, is because my boots wore out. I'm on foot, for about 5 miles a day. I, frequently, have to sprint, to respond for backup. I even put these on my office boots.- If someone is complaining that this product is anything less than four stars, the problem is completely their fault. If someone is giving this less than five stars, they are just being picky. This is a ten star product. I'm honestly impressed.- I'm 5'9" 240lbs of athletic LEO. I have a tendency to disrespect my equipment. I buy things to use them. These laces have been tested, relentlessly. This product will always be on my boots.

These almost stretch too much.
I love the concept with these. The department replaced my old Blackhawk duty boots (that had built in lace control/hiding in the top of the tongue of the boots) with these 511s. I wanted to try these so that I did not have to still tie and untie bootlaces. Plus, I was having to tuck my old laces into the edges of the tongues, only to find that they still came out and loosened on their own. With these, there's no more tying and untying. I haven't got to try these for very long, but so far, they seem to stay in place as expected. I found that they are almost too stretchy. When I first installed them, I found it quite difficult to get them to tighten up any at all as I was lacing them in. I realize they have to give some in order to accommodate your feet going in and out of the boots without untying them. It's not like my boots feel as if they're going to fall off, it's just that they're not quite as snug as my older Blackhawk zip boots were. It was hard to get one pair of the laces latched into the clip. It finally clipped together, but still looks like it's going to come loose at any time.

Just What I Needed For After Surgery
I had surgery a couple weeks ago. Bending down is not easy for me right now in recovery. I bought these for my work shoes and sneakers. LOVE! Easy to install, stays in place, they work great for boots and sneakers. I'm just sorry I didn't get these before. I don't even have to bend down, sit down, I can just put my foot in my shoes and go! These are very convenient and so thankful.Instructions: You lace them on your shoes just like your other laces. I left one shoe laced as a template and removed the other. After you lace them up, put the shoes on, I had help, so you can get the tightness/looseness right for you. Put the lock lace on the laces to make adjustments. Pull your foot in and out of the shoes standing to set it. Now to the cutting of the laces and putting on the clip. I left them long on my boots and ran the loose lace under the laces to the bottom then clipped it just in case I hurt my ankle/foot and I need a brace. I like to be cautious. They say cut them a couple inches below, but again I went long on my boots and my sneakers.Hope this helps, I will be buying more!

All boots need these
I love theses. Ended up putting a set on all my boots. I don't think I'd use these for regular shoes but, for all my different types of boots, they are the bees knees. They make it so easy to slide my work boots, hiking or snow boots on and off. They keep the boot on no different than regular shoelaces, but make the donning and doffing of the boots so much easier and less time consuming.I have seen many similar products on here for less money, but since I know these work and I haven't had any issues with them to speak of, I'm staying with these for the time being. Every new pair of boots I get will be laced up with these on day one.
