Excess moisture !
Works well used for just a month in a small caravan , collects water regularly almost in continuous use , our previous one lasted about 2 yrs . Ideal for a bedroom small room but you may require something bigger for anything else not cheap now twice the price I paid 2 years ago , but you’ll spend a lot of money if you have to throw things out because of damp and mould . Quite small and compact pretty quiet so you can sleep with it on without any problem , it’s low powered so seems cheap to run . Cons my only gripe is emptying the water collection container can be abit fiddly , but easy when you get the knack .

It works according to my humidity sensor
Sharing my thoughts below, but first some frequently asked questions: Q: Can you use it without the light? A: Yes. Whether you're in purifier mode or dehumidifier combo mode, you can turn off the blue light Q: Can I turn off dehumidifier mode? A: Yes you can use it as just an airpurifier. But you CANNOT use it as a dehumidifier alone. Purifier mode needs to be on for the dehumidifier to function. I prefer it this way because if my humidity goes below 30% (not recommended), but I still want to use the purifier function, the option is there. I prefer to have an air purifier on as much as possible. Q: Does it dehumidify? A: I bought a humidity sensor to test this. Before turning on the dehumidifer, the sensor gave me a reading of 50% humidity. After turning it on for an hour, the reading went down to 47%. My humidity level now sits around 32% after a week of having it on and off (see my image). Additionally, during that same time period of a weeks use, the tank was filled with 200ml of water. I'm confident it works. Q: Is it loud? A: On high fan speed, I measured it at 51 decibels at a normal distance. Up close it measures at 60 decibels. I'm fine with this as I like white noise and enjoy sleeping with it on at max power. There is also a detectable low hum in addition to the fan noise. Q: Any other useful bits of info? A: The power cord comes out of the unit from the side, because the water tank is at the back. So do I like it after a week of use? I do. It suits my needs as a compact dehumidifier/purifier combo. Most of the other products on the market around this price point looked unpleasing, and I didn't want to double my budget to get a Meaco for my tiny bedroom. In terms of doing it's job, it's decent both as a dehumidifier and an air purifier. But it makes up for just being decent with its relatively compact size. I would say it's designed well aesthetically, but the low quality plastic brings the looks down a little. My Levoit 300s looks more robust and expensive, because it is. I like that you can release the lid of the tank to give it a proper clean (see my image) because some dehumidifers out there don't allow this, which raises the danger of mildew forming. You can thoroughly clean the tank with this one. Well done Russell Hobbs! It is missing some features that other dehumidifiers in this price range have. For example, it doesn't have a humidity sensor built in, and it doesn't have any automated features hence why I bought my own cheap humidity sensor so that I know when it's time to stop dehumidifying. I would have liked an app to control it remotely but this would have likely raised the price of the product over £100. Overall, if you're looking for a compact unit that dehumidifies and you don't already have an air purifier, this is great value for the price. I've knocked off one star because it's not the highest quality build. PROS: 1. Looks good 2. Dehumidifies 3. Purifies 4. Small footprint CONS: 1. Build quality isn't spectacular

Well worth it.
Not as quiet as led to believe but is doing the job rightly! The handle is over the vent which reduces the area capacity that can absorb the moisture possibly. Lightweight to manoeuvre. But still recommend it.

Does what it says
First impressions because this arrived today: Pros: it’s been on the dehumidifier setting on high for just under an hour and it collected 30ml of water, which is pretty good going! You can hear the water being deposited from time to time, and when emptying the water storage the whole lid of it can come off so it’s much easier to empty than some other small dehumidifiers that I’ve had where there’s only a little hole to get the water out from. I like the design, and I like that it has 3 speeds for both the dehumidifier and the air purifier. Cons: the ‘beep’ is loud and sharp. Dehumidifier on the highest setting is quite loud - the other settings are definitely not quiet but are about the same sound level as a fan. You can’t have the dehumidifier and the air purifier settings running at the same time. It would be nice to have a dehumidifier of this size and quality that has the option to set an optimal humidity level and switches on/off when needed, as it only seems to be 10L + dehumidifiers that have this. Would be nice to have but not essential: the cable being able to be detached from the unit, as this makes it easier to run the cable through a small gap without having to have enough room for the whole plug to go too. (I bought this on sale for £73.99, I think it’s good value for money at this price but for the full price (£20 more I think?) I would have expected it to have a humidity level setting. Last year I bought a 12L dehumidifier for a 3 bed house for £140 and it had this, so I might be wrong but with an original price of nearly £100 I would expect it to be smarter)

Don’t expect a big difference
Got this as I live in an old building and my room was around 74% humidity when I started using it (I have my own device to measure humidity since the dehumidifier doesn’t). My room is just under 20 sqm - the size recommended - and I have been using it for about a month and a half pretty much non stop on low or medium power when I’m in, high when I’m out. It takes 2-3 days for the 1L tank to fill up. I like: - the noise is reasonable, medium setting is fine during the day and I have it on low at night (with earplugs that I always wear anyway) - pretty compact and very easy to move around with the handle - hard to tell but the purifier seems to work as smells don’t linger etc - the light can be kept on or turned off - turns off automatically if the tank is full so no need to worry about spillage I don’t like: - dehumidifier is not very effective. In over a month of use, room went from 74% to about 63% of humidity. It’s not a very big difference and that’s why I think the device has no visible measure of humidity. I’ve added a small electric heater to the room and only with the two together I have finally managed to bring humidity down to around 50% (for reference it’s recommended to keep the home between 30 and 50% so it’s not exactly dry yet, but better). - not possible to use only the dehumidifier setting as it has to be in conjunction with the purifier. Purifier can be turned on its own. - beeps when pressing the controls are a bit annoying, especially at night with other people around - automatically turns back on when the tank is removed, so make sure to empty it and put it in back quickly or turn the device off. Overall, I’ve still decided to keep it as I like the purifier, it fits in the space, it’s still better than before and I wouldn’t really want to spend more money or get anything bigger. I’d recommend getting a little device to check your humidity levels before buying (you can find them for cheap on Amazon) as if it’s high I think you would need a more powerful machine, even if the room is not very big. And also consider a small heater too as that seems to have done the trick. I’ve tried different placements in the room and keep it elevated near the windows as we only have single glazing and they fog up a lot with condensation. With this, it takes some time but eventually clears during the day.

Dehumidifier? Really!
Needed a smaller dehumidifier for the laundry room (3m2) to sit on the worktop as the air ease (excellent btw) one we had was too big. Well the Russell Hobbs what a waste of money hardly removes any moisture when tumble dryer running, the air ease being far superior (for not a lot more) albeit considerably larger. Also RH fairly noisy but not a problem where it was located.

Quiet and Efficient, but Limited Capacity
I’ve been using the Russell Hobbs RHDH1101G for a few weeks now, and overall, it’s a solid performer. It operates very quietly, which is great for running in the background without disturbance. The dual function as both a dehumidifier and air purifier is a nice touch, especially for smaller spaces where you want to improve air quality without too many gadgets. That said, the 750ml/day capacity is a bit limited. It’s perfect for small rooms or spaces with mild humidity issues, but it won’t handle larger or more humid areas efficiently. If you’re looking for something for a small bedroom or office, it’s great—but for bigger spaces, you may want something with a bit more power.

Removes moisture
A solid 4/5 from me. Researched countless dehumidifiers for our son’s bedroom and kept being put off by non familiar branding, so kept circling back to the Russell Hobbs machine. Mixed reviews as with everything but decided to give it a go as we’re going through high humidity here in Scotland over summer. It definitely does the job of removing moisture from the air - in our son’s 3x3m (ish) bedroom the 20m2 machine removed 200ml in the first 24hrs on the ‘low’ mode which was great. It hasn’t markedly reduced humidity but that’s likely because it’s still such high humidity outside, but taking comfort in the fact it’s removing moisture. Feel it’s expensive but it’s the best looking on the market and nice and compact to be placed in a corner, the light can’t be switched off when operating dehumidifier sadly and the purifier function must also be on whilst dehumidifying but not a bad thing. All in all, would recommend.
