Sturdy and loves water
This paper is reasonably priced for its high quality. It excepts water exceptionally well. This is 2nd to Arches to me but I also just started using it and as I grow and have more experience under my belt with this paper I will write another review.

Better to Arches in my humble opinion
This paper is the BEST as far as I am concerned. And the price is so much better than Arches. I'm sure I will still use Arches occasionally but this paper -- LOVELY! THANK YOU!

Plein air made easy
I usually buy Arches and I decided to change it up. It was a great experience. I like the texture and I was also able to lift color with ease. Good size for pleinair.

I am so thankful for you
I truly hope that your prices never increase to the point I can't afford you. I am a newbie at watercolor and have only bought the cheap stuff due to thinking that my work was never good enough for the good expensive stuff. But now that I have tried you, I don't ever want to go back. It does take a while to get it, but I don't mind considering I am halfway around the world. I would like to invest in some larger, 300lb sheets at some point. I am wondering if that is possible. But thank you and please stay reasonable price so that I can afford you.

eager to try! I hear great recommendations on this popular water color paper
I want to mention this paper came without any protective wrapping. NOTHING at all !1 corner of the block is broken. Block is the most expensive way to buy paper and needs to be intact. Sender needs to change the lack of wrap and protection. This paper is expensive$$and subject to damage from moisture, scratching, and damaging substances to surfaces that will ruin a painting. If I have trouble with it I will send it back for exchange. I gave 5 stars because it provides all the features of great water color paper.please report if your paper comes " as if right off the store shelf. "

Terrible quality
The last two Saunders Waterford blocks I purchased had the backer separated from the paper when they arrived. Also, I was sent hot pressed paper rather than rough. The moral of the story is I bought both to test the paper and obviously won’t buy this again.

You get what you pay for.
This is premium paper. It is “Artist” quality, meaning it is intended for professional artists as well as hobbyists. It is expensive but so are Artist quality paints and sable brushes.I have used lots of other papers, including the excellent Bockingford, but have found that only Arches paper comes close in terms of quality, and the difference between the two brands is probably down to personal choice. The “tooth” of the rough paper is excellent for dry brush work, whilst the strength of the paper allows you to really soak it when using “wet in wet” techniques, aiding the granulation of your paint.I use “student” quality papers for preliminary sketches and compositional experiments, but when I paint a work intended for keeping, it has to be this paper.
