Worked well when used to protect three flights of stairs during a move.
I used these when I moved out of a three-story townhouse. They were thick and protected the stairs well. Pricey, but they worked.

Excellent Product
I initially covered our wooden stairs with red rosin paper secured with blue painters tape In preparation for furniture moving and home remodeling. I found that process to be extremely difficult and the end result to be unsafe and unsatisfactory. Subsequently, I purchased Ram Board Stair Armor premade stair coverings and Ram Board Green 90 Day Green tape. The INSTALLATION PROCESS: requires quite a bit of bending over, kneeling and manual dexterity to apply the stair protectors and tape. There are limited directions and there is a learning curve to the installation process. I tried a variety of techniques, ie. tape on product first, top first, bottom first and became more proficient but never found an easy rhythm to the task. In my opinion, this job will be much easier for some rather difficult for others. I installed twenty four covers in approximately two and one half hours and that included the removal of the original rosin paper and relocation of some of the same on landings. The PRODUCT: is far superior to the red rosin paper on the stairs. Positive characteristics include: solid construction, safety warnings, non slip surface on the inside and outside of the product, easy fit, simple to trim. The Green tape is also far superior to the blue painters tape as it: tears easily to size, folds into 90 degree seams easily, adheres well but is forgiving when another try at location is necessary. The accompanying photo shows the first steps that I covered and my final product got better from there on.Overall, some may find this product pricey but in my opinion the safety provided for the workers and stairs greatly outweighs the price. I expect the Stair Armor to protect our staircase but understand that the product is not indestructible.

Perfect Protection
During a home renovation project, these stair protectors are essential. We tried to use regular RAM board, but it just is not flexible enough to mold to the stair shape. This product is easy to work with, fit all of our stairs, and was flexible enough to handle new folds to make the product fit snug.We had to order three packs because by week four of the project, a few stair protectors were starting to wear out.Our staircase has white oak treads, we didn't use this product during another project, and deeply regret it. This time, stairs are well protected. These aren't cheap, but neither is refinishing our staircase. No regrets buying these.

Measure size
Obviously the width needs to be correct but the depth as well. I bought them knowing my steps were built wider. But they have two different options to bend it for the depth but neither of them fit my stairs. I taped paper first but the tape on these didn’t work well and slide all over. I should’ve used their tape but no one carried it. Still protects the steps but for $50/6 pricey for what it does.

Ram Board = Reliable
Had to protect some beautiful hardwood stair treads at a previous bathroom remodel. These were just the trick. Didn't have to waste a bunch of time making construction paper fit the stairs. Didn't have to waste a ton of tape making sure no one tripped. Once the job was done, took them up and we've used them at two other projects. Thank you, RamBoard! Always saving the day for us Contractors.

Very tough cardboard
My contractor loved these stair protectors. He said to keep them for the next job... they are that tough.
