Q: How can they be for both overpronation and supination? are they interchangeable; like left goes in right shoe for supination?

No, they are not interchangeable. My understanding is that they work for both over probation and supination by properly aligning and supporting the foot. I have flat feet and purchased them to have additional arch support, and for that, they are great. Since they have a free return, you can try them to see how well they work for your particular need.

Q: I had an ankle fusion and the only comfortable shoes to wear are rocker bottoms. Will these act somewhat the same so I can wear my normal shoes?

Q: Is the gel heel pad sitting in a shallow indentation in the hard plastic shell, or is it in a hole in the hard plastic shell (softer heel cushioning)?

Actually, the inserts don't have a hard plastic shell. They are a foam material throughout with a gel heel pad that is not noticeably different from the rest of the material when you're wearing them. My husband says they're comfortable and have really helped with the knee pain he used to get when standing for a long time (although ProFoot insoles are his favorites!).

Q: Do they move inside of shoe?

I put the insert insoles in my casual shoes with shoe laces and they are stable. But I cannot use them in my shallow mouth shoes. The shallow shoes will fall off because they are a little wider in the heel.
