A well produced album by West African trombonist, songwriter & bandleader Abdul Raheem. Raheem's music is a hybrid of African reggae and smooth jazz. Fans of the two genres will appreciate his music, but I'm not a big fan of the latter. Raheem's songs also feature on "The Finest African Jazz" (ASIN: B000025MSF).For those looking for more classic sounding modern jazz from Africa (less "smooth jazz"), check out South African pianist Abdullah Ibrahim (formerly Dollar Brand).
