My snails shells are doing great
Love it, my snails look healthy. Only con is that it is on the pricier side.

Snail Octane Booster!!!
I wasn’t sure if the Wonder Shell would have much benefit. I figured my tap water was fairly hard already. Well, my nerite snail used to hide behind a Catappa / Indian Almond leaf in the back of the tank. I never saw him. After I put in the Wonder Shell, he was zooming all over the tank! Now he regularly cleans algae off the front glass. He is very active now. After the first one dissolved, I put in the second Wonder Shell. My snail must have smelled it. He immediately zoomed right over and munched his way over the shell (see video). I have seen my Amano shrimp munch on it too. I am reading Ecology of the Planted Aquarium by Diana Walstad, even though I don’t have a dirt tank. Apparently, studies show calcium ions compete with copper ions, reducing heavy metal uptake in mollusks. So perhaps that is also a benefit?! Now I love getting to watch all my snail’s activity. YAY!!!

Great source of calcium.
Seems to be helping my snails shells!

Was super beneficial to my snail's shells
I started using these in my snail's tank and I have noticed a definite improvement in the quality of their shells as they grow. The water quality is also slightly better after feedings with these. The algae pellets I feed them can sometimes make the water a little cloudy otherwise. I keep African dwarf frogs and ghost shrimp in the same tank and all are doing well and are healthy. I keep live plants in my tank and they still look great too.

Definitely don't use the dosing on the back of the package
Other reviewers have mentioned the Aquarium Coop dosing recommendations, which are much closer to what you should follow for a typical tank, and are generally MUCH lower than those on the packaging. The dosing guide on the back of the package will result in MUCH too high GH/calcium hardness in your tank, unless you are running some sort of saltwater coral tank.I used 2 of these small shells in a 10gal tank (still less than the recommendations on the packaging) and the GH went to about 20 degrees over the course of a couple weeks. Part of the problem is that even after the wondershells seem to fully dissolve, the GH continues to rise. I had to perform a couple 30% water changes to get it back down to a reasonable amount, below 12 degrees. Luckily I have no fish yet, just snails, so they probably liked the temporary increase.
