product works well, doesn't come with instructions. use a pliers to pull up the bolt at the top to activate the spring, then install as normal. once screwed in, remove the pliers - this realigns (raises) a gate that has already sagged and ensures enough tension to keep the gate level.

Works like a charm on our wooden gate. Easy to install, instructions were clearly written. Maneuvers easy over wooden deck board and gate entry way. Glad to find a sturdy wheel that didn’t have a lock mechanism.

Works great, no worries about the wheels losing air like some other gate wheels. Just be sure to put a line of bricks underneath the wheels otherwise they would cause ruts and would get stuck

I added these casters to the gates on my privacy fence. Both open on slanted ground one is on a 10 degree pitch and the other is 5 degrees. These prevent the gate bottoms from dragging and make opening and closing smooth and easy. I was the only person in our household that could open the gate that was installed on the 10 degree pitch, but now my wife and kids can open both gates effortlessly. The wheel lock creates enough friction to lock the gate open in moderate winds, which is a nice feature. The wheels are sturdy enough for the aapplication,but I think they are the the least sturdy part of the caster. I used a corrosion inhibitor grease on the bolts screws and nuts to prevent rust and to make removal effortless. If this is your application I would recommend these casters. Add a lock washer to the nut whenever you install, and you can add a fender washer to the center screw to increase surface area. Those are the two things that should come with these parts, but I had some to add.

I had to redo my side yard gate, and this gate wheel made a big difference. It prevents sagging over time and helps the gate swing much more smoothly. Installation was straightforward, and the spring-loaded design handles uneven ground well. Definitely a smart upgrade for any heavy or frequently used gate.

These work as advertised. Built well, and was a fairly easy install. Too soon to know how these will weather. I coated the unpainted parts, bearings, axles, etc... with a light grease to help ward off rust. Our drive is sloped. There is about a 2" drop in the six foot length of the gate when opened. It takes up the full vertical travel of the wheel and it does not touch the concrete when the gate is opened... so the wheel locking is kind of worthless for holding the gate open. I have some 1/4" thick aluminum and I think I will glue or bolt a small 4"x4" pad to the concrete where the wheel rests when the gate is opened. This will give the wheel something to grip when the lock is engaged.
