58mm Espresso Filter Basket, Two Cup- Single Wall, Non-pressure Accessorie, Fit Breville 58mm portafilter

This was an upgrade for me...from the basket that provides back pressure...it does require a little more tuning of your process and a little more maintenance (as you switch beans)...but that fiddling is just part of the DIY thing...it fit my unit perfectly and is flawless.

Fits so snug in the portafilter that I can't pry it out with my fingers -- much tighter than the base non-pressurized portafilter. But I wanted two so I more could pull quad shots quicker. Works great, but I use this filter last as I need a spoon or something similar to pry it out. Seems easier to pull even shots with this one as well. Might try to file this one down a little bit and see if that improves things, but no issues otherwise in terms of usability. High quality product and would buy again (I just might here soon so my shots are more consistent).

I would like to try answering some questions about this basket and the popular Calphalon Temp IQ machine.- The basket fits nice and snug in the portafilter.- The height of this basket is about 0.2 mm higher than the original baskets of Temp IQ. Therefore, you won't be able to lock the portafilter in place. However, you can easily sand it off with a sharpening stone (it takes 10-15 minutes), and it works with no problem.- Note that this basket is deeper than the Temp IQ baskets. Thus you need to put a bit more coffee in it, otherwise, it feels over-extracted.- I think the original pressurized baskets for Temp IQ work best because the machine temperature and timing profiles were set for them. My personal preference is the 2 shot one. I am sure one can find the best optimum for the amount of coffee, ground size in this basket, and a single- or double-shot pull mode of the Temp IQ, but it will take some experimenting.

I bought this with some hesitation after reading other reviews - but this fits the Calphalon perfectly with no modifications. It pops into the portafilter nicely, and doesn’t take any more pressure than the original to fit to the group head - no pliers or sanding required!This produced decent espresso after a few tweaks to the grind size I’d been using with the pressurized basket. Recommended!

Great pulls

I want to try a single wall filter as the Calphalon espresso machine (also bought on Amazon) only comes with double wall filters. It fits the porta filter and works, but I personally prefer the double wall filter. I get more crema and better flavor.

The seller was kind enough to let me cancel the order. I found out the hard way that not all e61 (55mm) baskets fit all e61 (55mm) portafilters. Turns out there are lip differences and clasp differences on the two similarly sized baskets and portafilter.Confusing!!
