Green Lanterns Vol. 1: Rage Planet (Rebirth)

The start of the new lanterns is here ... and man for my money ... and hardcore nerd that will argue Kyle is his green lantern - Jessica Cruz is awwwwwesome. Top tier sci fi action. Can’t wait to see where it goes. Simon is a cool character too - but - Jessica and her inner turmoil is the star here. To everyone that applauds every time they push a female hero/lead ... this is how u do it in a real and affecting way. By creating a strong interesting character and hero - who is also female. Take notes Hollywood - I want this leading lady in green on the screen soon 😬

Me gusta este soplo de aire fresco que Jessica la primera mujer green lantern de la tierra y también la primera latina y Simon el primer musulmán la dan a la franquicia de polis espaciales.Por otro lado a aquellos que quieran aprender bien un inglés les recomiendo leer mucho, por ejemplo cómics, adquirirán entre otras cosas mucho vocabulario.

Jessica Cruz is one of the most interesting characters in comic books today. Her inner monologues provide the story with a lot of depth and keep this 'Buddy Inter-Galactic Cops' book, very grounded. Her character arc is beautiful. I won't be surprised if she gets her solo series. Simon Baz is ok. Don't see the character going far beyond the 'I fought against societal prejudice and discrimination to become great' angle.

This being my first time getting into a Green Lantern series, I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it might be a book about big, overpowered, rings. I didn't except it to be something I could actually relate to. But I was pleasantly surprised.Green Lanterns focuses on two characters: Simon Baz, and Jessica Cruz.Simon: The book starts off with Simon, a Muslim, wiping the word Terrorist" off of his sister's garage door. You immediately have this emotion and this feeling for the character. It really draws you in quick. He's a bit more experienced than Jessica, and so he takes that leadership role during this story, easily becoming one of my favorite characters in rebirth thus far.Jessica: Jessica is a character who struggles with severe anxiety. I can relate because I have the same thing. Anxiety isn't something you can truly explain, but man, does this book do a good job at really showcasing what anxiety truly is. But my favorite part about it, was that Jessica is learning to overcome her anxiety. And through that, it teaches you, the reader, to overcome anxiety. This is what comic books are all about. Relating to characters. Overcoming fears. Willpower. It's amazing.Conclusion: This book has some of the most emotional journeys; one's you wouldn't expect from two people with the most powerful weapon in the universe. Easily one of the best rebirth titles, and I won't hesitate to pick up volume two when it releases.

I absolutely love the new green lanterns series. Great story and art. Both Green lanterns are pretty new to the corps and are complete opposites giving it a lethal weapon buddy cop style where neither can really stand one another but eventually find some mutual respect. It also teases the future of this series and I'm really excited. A definite pick up for any green lantern fan!
