Westcott French Curve Template Set of 8

French curves, by design, come in all shapes and sizes. This set has a great assortment from small tight curves, to large sweeping ones, and most pieces have interior cutouts with even more variety. The plastic is clear, which makes it easy to see what is under, and they have ink lips (there is a small recess along the edge so ink won't wick under and smear) - this is an essential feature if using with pens instead of pencils. Hopefully the quality hasn't deteriorated over the decades - I still have a Westcott drafting triangle from the late 80's.

Even though this set is WAAYYY cheaper, it does not dissapoint. None have broken and the plastic is still in great shape after over a year. Im always glad to have it when I need a rounded edge on some wood as it is ust far better than going by hand, and even gives me some good ideas for a more attractive curve. For the price, I wouldnt bother not having a set in my shop or art desk.

Bought these for crafting: I mostly do paper and fabric work, but just bought a scroll saw. They seem to be made of a pretty fragile plastic - I wouldn't want to drop them too often - but for the price, I wouldn't expect more. They don't take up a lot of room, because they are so thin. They are thick enough to work fine, though - you won't have trouble tracing around them. Really young kids might break them, but 9 and up should be okay. I did not give 5 star because they aren't "professional grade," but I am really quite satisfied - I don't think you could find any better set for the price, maybe not even twice the price.
