Great Portable Charger. I Always Go With Anker
So in the past I have had the chance to use the lipstick chargers that Anker has made. These days they are not the optimal choice seeing as they only output 1 amp of power. This new PowerCore 5000 has proven to be the new portable charger of choice for me. It charges at 2 amp which is what most standard wall chargers do. I have taken a few photos to show a few different things about this charger. It is compact and the outer casing is solid. It is not metal but it is a mat black tough exterior. The button on the side makes it easy to use compared to the older lipstick chargers. The great thing though is that I didn't even have to push it to make it start charging. Just plug in the phone and it started right up. Super easy to use and works as advertised. What more could you ask for?1st photo, the entire package. Everything that comes with the charger and the box it comes in. All very compact and nice.2nd photo is a photo of how much charge the charger had when it arrived. 2 out of three lights. I usually charge all new devices that I get right away just to start fresh. So I popped this onto a charger and it only took a couple hours. So I assume it was about %60 full. Now Photos 3 and 4 are the most important photos for me. I own a Galaxy Note5 and at the time I had %70 battery left on my phone. I plugged my phone into a standard 2 amp output wall charger to see what the time until fully charged said. As you can see in the photo it read 43 min until charged. So the ultimate test was to see if when plugged into the PowerCore 5000 the same reading showed. The final picture shows the phone plugged into the battery pack and the exact same reading. So this definitely charges just as good as a standard wall charger.I would suggest this product to anyone looking for a full phones worth of charge on the go and to do it at a decent speed. I love having quick charge on my phone but as of right now Anker does not make a quick charge 2.0 battery pack this small. I only use Anker products for charging my devices. I have a few lipstick chargers, now this charger, two PowerCore+ 10050 with quick charge 2.0, a couple of the wireless chargers, and a couple PowerPort chargers. They have never disappointed me and they are always trying to stay up to date with their equipment. This is a solid product and I will purchase another so I have a couple. Until they come out with a quick charge version that is. Then I will give these away to have those. But all in all a great charger for on the go. Easily fits in your pocket with your phone.

A Perfect Battery
This is a great charger. Anker has got another great charger in their PowerCore line. It was a little bit larger than I expected (5 x 3.7 x 1.5 inches) - I was expecting something more along the lines of the Anker PowerCore mini Ultra-Compact Portable Phone Charger External Battery - 18-Month Warranty (Black) - but it is still plenty small enough to fit in your pocket. It is light weight so it won't weigh you down. It is perfect for traveling and holds enough power to charge your phone at least once. With the Power IQ that is build into it you get the right charge for your phone.I have found many uses for this power bank already. Since it is small and light weight I had no problems taking it on a nice 7 mile hike when I was in Yellowstone. It was a life saver when my phone battery was almost dead and I was using it to track the distance. I just plugged my phone into the PowerCore 5000 and before I knew it my phone was fully charged. I have also found that when you combine it with a small USB powered fan it makes for a great portable fan to help beat the heat. The PowerCore 5000 is build from high quality materials. It has a nice matte black finish that looks really nice. It has 3 power lights on the side to indicate how much of a charge you have left. It also comes with an Anker USB cable and a nice fabric drawstring pouch to store it in.I would highly recommend the PowerCore 5000 to anyone, not just travelers. It is a great battery that will serve you well.

Worked well lasted me 5 years
First off I like Anker products. I have a few now the 10k wireless charger, a few cables, one cable that I tried to warranty and they never got back to me on. A larger 20k metro essential. But it all started with the power core 5k my first ever Anker product it’s time to retire it.I ordered it because I didn’t like the early battery degradation and overheating I would could on my portable devices especially when leaving them plugged in over night. With all the safety feature’s implemented in this little thing it’s what got me to buy, never having to worry about my devices overcharging or overheating.I purchased it in 2018 March and have been using it regularly since. I fondly remember times where I’m concerned I would run out of battery on my phone on long road trips and such and here this little thing was to the rescue saving my device and sometimes part of a family members device as well. I honestly didn’t know what to expect at the time when I picked it up for 15$ back than. I’ve used to power a large assortment of devices at this point to name a few- to charge an electric toothbrush, some usb powered speakers, I was surprised it could power them, many a phone, a few tablets and iPads, etc. The thing trooped on regardless of the dings and scratches it ended up getting from daily use it never stopped. It’s built surprisingly tough. It’s been with me through a lot and it could sit on a shelf for a month or two between charges and still hold a decent charge after all that time idle. I remember a time I was out doing snow and using it to charge my phone as I was listening to music and the battery itself became like a little hand warmer which I throughly enjoyed, thing itself may have gotten a bit hot sometimes but the heat would dissipate quickly.Sadly all good things eventually come to an end. Just recently I had been using it exclusively to recharge my toothbrush and leaving it in the bathroom for a few months it trooping through cycles of people taking hot humid showers. A family member “borrowed without asking” it and used it for their own device and upon them giving it back to me it was out of charge so I did what I’d usually do plug it in to charge overnight. This morning after my toothbrush indicated to me that the battery needed charging I went to plug it in as always and none of the lights came on, on the Anker battery. The button on the device stopped working as well. The lights came on with it plugged into the wall through the input port but the output as far as I have been able to tell has finally given out. Not saying it isn’t my family members fault and they somehow managed to break it but. . . I’ll be remaining open on that thought I plan on having them reimburse me for it considering that they used it last. All in all I wholeheartedly recommend this little device, maybe they’re not as good as they used to be I can’t say I only have my mileage with the one device of this model. So thank you Anker 5k for 5 years of power in many a different circumstance.
