Q: Are the shelves durable enough to hold appliances like a toaster oven or mini refrigerator?

Yes, the description of the adjustable height standing shelf saids that each tier can bear 30kg. And I put the shelf in my kitchen to hold all the kitchen supplies and pots and pans. Storage large appliances like microwave oven,electric pressure cooker and food processor also works well. I think there is no problem for put items under 30kg each-tier.

Q: what is the height of bottom middle and top Poles?

I don't really recall how tall each pole happens to be, but once put together unit stands 6 feet tall. The poles have slots approx 1” apart so you can decide the height of each shelf. It goes together quickly and because it does go together so well I can no longer tell how long each pole would be. Sorry I can't guess their heights.

Hooks at Home Depot different wheels? No likely.

Q: How am i supposed to “screw on” the upper tube “into the lower post with the screw connector” when the upper tube is hollow and you can’t screw it on?

It must be that you are using the term "tube" and "post" synonymously because they are tubes or posts, not tubes and posts. Each tube has one end with male threads, the opposite end with female. They are all hollow and neatly screw together. One set of four tubes is designed for the bottom and will receive the wheels or stationary feet as per your preference. You decide which of these you prefer when selecting your rack. Videos show how to put them together.
