Maxant Covered Belt Buckle Kit and 44" of Belting

Wanted to make a matching belt and had no idea where to start. In all the years I have sewed, I have never made one! I really didn't know where to start and looked on internet and found a video referring to belt kit. Easy, right? These kits are no where to be found in local fabric stores so I decided to order and hope for the best. Product arrived earlier than promised and it is "made in the USA"! If you've ever covered buttons, you can cover the buckle. However, I had no idea how to cover the "belt" and there were no instructions. Looked for and found another video with instructions using a kit. Watched it a couple times and as I was doing the belt. Worked great! The only thing that would have made this easier was to include instructions for both the buckle and the belt, not just the buckle. Otherwise.....I am a happy camper!

Used this kit to make a self-fabric belt for my daughter's 1950's style dress for a high school dance. It went together easily and feels secure (not like it will fall apart).Only wish -- I wish there were instructions for how to assemble the belt. I figured it out fine and it's not particularly complicated, but I'd been working WAY too late into the night at the last minute to make this outfit and my brain didn't want to figure out exactly where and how to ideally make the holes to secure the covered belting to the covered buckle and how to organize connecting the metal center between the pieces. Simple instructions or a suggested website would have saved me some vital time and brain cells.Overall, I would still recommend this and use this brand again.
