This pulley is amazingly lightweight and functional for off road recreational purposes. The plastic fingers keeps it aligned all the time, doesn’t need lubricants or pins to hold it together.

I have not used this yet and hope I never have to but will have it in my recovery kit and like an insurance policy when you need it it is to late to get it. It is well made and easy to use as a snatch block, much lighter than a steel snatch block with a wheel. I have seen videos of recovery rope being burned when using this and other snatch blocks that are not made of steel with a spinning wheel. My thought is if you are pulling line in so fast that it is heating up the snatch block you are moving to fast and possibly overloading the weakest link in your system, and for sure, it is not this snatch block. I have training in High and Low angle rescue but not in vehicle recovery so my expertise may be limited. As with anything get proper training from qualified instructors and practice using the equipment before you need it.
