unexpectedly comfortable with substantial support
Although this device is sold as an ankle support, I purchased it to help a plantar fasciitus injury heal. It covers the same area with the same amount of compression as I was getting with an Ace bandage but with far less effort and greater comfort than with the bandage. The seams are exceptionally well made, with almost no lump when they are worn. I did not feel them even with tightly laced running or hiking shoes. The fit on me is tight, as it needs to be to perform its function. Initially I thought it would rip apart after a dozen or so uses, as it needs to be pulled hard to get it on and off. After putting it on and off about two dozen times it is just now starting to rip at the seams.I'm so satisfied with how well this support works that I don't mind having to replace it every so often.Other brands that I tried were easier to take on and off but didn't work well.

Won't stretch to get on your foot.
Before ordering this product, I used the chart and "measured the smallest part of the ankle". It was 8 inches, ordered a medium, received the brace, looked OK, and then I tried to put it on. The opening to fit your foot into is only 3 inches wide, and it only stretches out to 4.5 inches and then the material just stops stretching, and then starts creaking like the seam is going to tear. A human foot is usually wider at the toes than at the "smallest part of the ankle"... If the brace was just magically on my foot, it looks like it would fit fine. But how is someone supposed to get it on when the holes aren't large enough for a human sized foot to fit into.... I don't see how this brace would work for anyone unless they can fold the end of their foot in half and squeeze it through. It looks like this brace is unusable. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to just drive down to the store and buy one. 1 star review, good grief.I have other ankle braces (different brand, purchased at a pharmacy), same dimensions, but their material actually stretches enough to pull onto your foot.

Years of damage. Almost instant relief!
Arrived promptly. Gave three stars on thickness because it is lightweight. Being summer I prefer that it is lightweight so it is actually a perfect thickness for me right now. I gave three stars on the stretchiness because it is a firm hold rather than loose and stretchy. I have high arches so I need it to be firm rather than loose. Stretch is actually a perfect five star for me personally. It is extremely comfortable and I have ordered a second one to make sure I have one for each foot. I have looked for this figure eight ankle brace numerous places and Amazon is the only one that had it.I wear a six and a half or seven shoe. I ordered the medium and it is a perfect fit. I do have other figure eights that do give when my feet slightly swell and expect this to as well.Thank you

Solid, comfortable
Medium size was a bit too large. Small is good but very hard to get on, though comfortable once on. Washes well - used washing machine and dryer and no issues.

About the same mediocre quality than other more expensive "8" type supports I tried.
This one reminds me of the quality of the old "Futuro" brand I bought 20+ years ago when I broke my ankle. I have needed some ankle support ever since. Recent "8" type supports I've tried pucker along the stitched seams and stretch out. This one so far has held up well. I am very happy I found this. Some mild compression makes my ankle feel a lot better. This does the job without being thick, bulky, or having unnecessary adjustments, not needed. Fits great! BTW I ordered the XL, my shoe size is a 10D (male) and the XL fits perfect; snug, comfortable and not too tight, leaves hardly any impression in my leg, of course this has to do with the sizing.UPDATE: As others have noted these tend to lose their elasticity and become useless. I originally bought 5 of these when they were about $7 ea. so I stocked up. Now down to the last two. They stretch out became useless and I'm using a XL on a size 10 foot so I am not over-stretching.

Helps with ankle and arch pain
I have a weakened ankle due to flat feet from birth. My tendons in the arch area and below the ankle of my left foot have fallen. This support helps to hold them up and into place when I have to do grocery shopping, work in the yard, or other walking. I can't wear it 24/7, as it fits snug and my foot and ankle has to have a rest from it after awhile. But it does help with pain while I do wear it. Very helpful and the price is reasonable.

Tolerable, but inferior to the old Futuro ones
Updated with the photos - these are after ~7 weeks of wearing this ankle brace at night, ONLY to sleep in, not while doing any activity. As you can see it is already disintegrating. Champion should be embarrassed to have their name on these braces. My years-old Futuro one is stretched out, but in much better shape than this one is after less than 2 months.I've been wearing ankle braces on and off for decades because of a genetic condition. My frequent use braces just need to add some stability, not be majorly restrictive. My go-to has always been the figure 8 Futuro ankle braces, but they have stopped making those in recent years. I was hoping this brace would be like those were, having the Champion brand attached to it. Sadly, it isn't.The fabric/ elastic is much thinner and flimsier than the Futuro ones were and the elasticity isn't as great. And some of the stitching is rough to the point that I had to pad under it when I first wore the brace. That said, it does do what I need it to do. I doubt it will last me the years that the Futuro braces lasted me.
