I suffered from frequent urination and urgency for years before discovering that acidic food and drinks were causing my bladder problems. I found this product after my doctor told me I was "too young" to have overactive bladder, and referred me to a urologist. While keeping track of what I consumed to track my symptoms, I came across information about acidity irritating the bladder, and also stumbled across this product. I gave it a try and it has completely changed my life - no more urgent sprints to the bathroom every hour throughout the day, no more leakage, no more embarrassment. I've found that 2-3 isn't always enough for me, so I'll often take 4 with a very acidic meal. I keep bottles of this everywhere. I wish the instructions were clearer about how long after a dose you need to take more (ie if you are eating/drinking over a prolonged period) but that's not a huge issue . This stuff is amazing.

Interstitial cystitis is now used as an umbrella term. And has absorbed overactive bladder syndrome, painful bladder syndrome,and several other diseases. It can mean many different things from person to person. When i was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, it was a rare disease only affecting women post pregnancy or childbirth and at least 35 years of age. I was none of those. I was 15 with no prior pregnancies or use of birth control. I had had chronic recurring utis for 10+ years, was no longer allowed to take antibiotics, and had been incontinent my whole life. I was in constant pain and always had blood in my urine. So i got the entire shirtstick. I have no bladder lining,constant ulcers and infections. I have a neurological disorder called fibromyaglia and early onset neuropathy and somewhere in the mix of that my nerves are kinda fried so i have constant muscle spasms, loss of muscle control, and all around weakening of the bladder muscle itself. My body cannot naturally regulate normal conditions nor sustain healthy bacteria and such. So for me, they go hand in hand. A flare up of my IC leads to and encourages a UTI because my urine is full of bad bacteria and my urine is so acidic it eats ulcers in the muscle which then get infected. I have been able to regulate with the use of prelief (i take 3 do uses a day with my regular medicine) Elmiron, and oxybutynin. I haven't had a flare up since i started taking them. My life has been changed dramatically. My only drawback is that taking it regularly has given me acid reflux and i can't drink water without getting heartburn anymore.

This product helps my stomach, too. I take it before first sip of coffee. I can drink coffee again!
