The GAF-Lightning-PD converts IEEE 802.3af PoE to 5 volts 12 watts. It provides both power and data out on the lightning connector to devices such as your iPhone or iPad.

Q: Can I use this outdoors to wire my outdoor security cameras? If not how would I enclose this?

Yes you can. I wired my bosses new house with these outside and used small outdoor waterproof sealed metal enclosures to tuck the adaptor inside along with the cable from the camera. Since the one I picked up was metal, I had it sanded and painted with the same solid paint as the house. Plastic is ok too. Home Depot or similar stores will have them in the electrical isle. If your lucky and have a good sized light enclosure next to the camera, you could try to stuff it inside the light, in my case the light on the front side was just too small.

Q: I see this taps the 48v from the poe, but does poe still pass through to the rj45? I need to tap power for an arlo from a cable that feeds a meraki
