I admit to being very skeptical when it comes to these kind of OTC supplements and/or medications. I had been having hip pain and discomfort for some time, progressively getting worse. Orthopedic doctor told me I would eventually need hip replacement surgery. A family member has been a sales rep for a replacement joint manufacturer for several years now and in conversation with him he recommended I give this product a try. Not sure where he got that information from but figured he should have some inside information and what the heck it's worth a try. And to my complete surprise it has actually worked. It does not work immediately, takes several weeks to really kick in but as of the time of writing this (3 or 4 weeks in) I am in less pain and able to go about my life in a more normal manner. I do not know how it works but I can assure you it does. My doctor prescribed anti inflammatory drugs which I did not take because of blood pressure issues with them in a past experience. This Cosamin DS is not a cure all, the hip problem is still there, just much, much less, and I don't know if eventually the issue will force it's way back. The thought of having hip replacement surgery was something that scared the @#$% out of me so I am very happy with this product. Long may it last.

I was scheduled to have a knee replacement the week the U.S. schools closed in 2020 but it was delayed due to another illness. I was not keen on the thought of going to therapy during the pandemic. My chiropractor recommended this and said it's the only clinically proven glucosamine supplement. I've been taking it for several years now. Prior to this, I had taken other glucosamine supplements but saw little effect. I started with one pill a day and that was enough to keep my knee pain free most of the time. I also increased my exercise and continued a plant based diet in the hope that I might be able to rebuild the cartilege in that knee. After a year and a half of one pill per day, I increased to 2 pills and it really made a difference. I continued that regimen for over 6 months. My knee is much better now. I'm back to one pill a day and have no intention of doing a knee replacement. I used to go down stairs very carefully because it was so painful. I don't have to do that any more. The exercise and healthy diet probably contributed to the improvement but Cosamin helped elminate the pain so I could exercise. Highly recommended.
